This review I wanted to start off by saying when I saw the leek that the new pokemon game was going to be a remake of yellow I was at first against it. Especially with the go machanics. After I saw more I realized this Pokémon game wasn’t just for the hardcore but to let it grow a player base that for the most part is still growing every generation now. For this game I wanted to look at it through my eyes but my wife as well. So first I wanted to say as a hardcore there was some improvements I never knew I wanted but now I don’t think I want to live without. For starters being able to change Pokémon on the fly without going back to the Pokémon center was absolutely amazing. If that goes away I think I will be sad but I can understand why when they release their new core game later in 2019 but my goodness that was awesome. Another great change is the adding the ability to change Pokémon nature that in itself will save so much time for the vgc crowed that hacked Pokémon might see more of a decrease as well. Another great feature is defiantly being able to see the Pokémon before battling adding better shiny hunting and overall just better Pokémon catching ability’s. These 3 changes I feel like I just want to keep forever as well as the ability to keep riding your own Pokémon. Having a Pokémon follow you again is also amazing considering the walking animations for all these Pokémon is well done and it’s fun finding out which Pokémon actually offer more then just a buddy that follows you around. There are some good changes to this game as well go park replaced the safari zone as well as you partner Pokémon eevee or pikachu basically become the most broken hm slave in the history of Pokémon both being perfect Pokémon upon getting them. Battling keeps that good ol jrpg turn base combat However depending on how you want to play(like me) can be either super easy or some what hard with how the crtitcal hit system works in this game. Gyms get a nice massive update as well walking into saffron city gym in particular to me blew me away I was absolutely stunned. Another feature added which I personally didn’t like but I’m ok with it is the ability to have a couch coop experience. So pokedads and Pokemoms can now sit down and play with their children and bond over a game they played themselves when they where that little or like me just having fun with my noobie wife. As mentioned earlier also the safari zone has been replaced with Pokémon go park which allows you to transfer you first 151 Pokémon from Pokémon let’s go into your game(heads up some phones have issues my wife’s pixel 1 is one of these phones) which makes a small mini game of fun catching like when moving Pokémon from gen 3 on the advance to gen 4 on the ds. Just a note cp ruffle translates into levels in lets go so a cp 2000 Pokémon in Pokémon go is a level 20 Pokémon. Now one major feature left out was the ability to battle many wild Pokémon to catch them replaced with Pokémon go style of play with transferring and catching Pokémon to level up. Personally I wasn’t to hot on it but I didn’t hate it cause they constantly give you Pokeballs after every battle. However the catch rates are all over the place and can be quite Annoying sometimes. However the candy system is actually really good and does make it easier to get some super awesome Pokémon. Another issue that annoyed me was the overall slow down when a lot of Pokémon are on screen at once. Handheld mode I saw cram rates dip and lag hit me hard which while short defiantly felt bad.
overall Pokemon let’s go actually turned out to be a well made babies first Pokémon game that can actually entertain the most hardcore and casual Pokémon fan alike. Using the sites forumal it’s a play for sure
