No because PC can actually run a game at 4k and max settings at 60 fps. Mind you, you still need a monster PC for that.

Meanwhile PS4 pro literally had to take shaders and effects out of games just to get it to run at 30 and 4kish.

They were barely capable of getting 1080p 60 fps before and they just jumped to 4k.

Don't you think it would have been smarter to make a 1440p console instead so that games on consoles could be put on max settings?

The best reason to buy a Pro right now is to have extra fps in some games.

So when consoles do something it is bad, when PCs do it it is good.

An argument I've been highlighting this entire thread, an argument that PC users keep making and it is always an invalid argument.

Sorry if that offends you, sorry of that is an uncomfortable truth, but the blatant hypocrisy is almost amusing.

      • Let's be straight forward here. It's about what YOU like in the end. This topic has been going around for awhile. But It always comes down to what YOU as a player like to use as "equipment" YES there's exclusive games for specific system like little gifts you get for buying their product. Some dont want an alien computer like some dont want a playstation or xbox there is no right or wrong way to play/enjoy your games. WHATS A RIP-OFF ARE THE UNFINISHED GAMES BEING PUBLISHED. Let's talk about about how call of duty is the same GAME but a new skin wait there's more... a new gun gasp! I almost thought I wasted my money.... ppphhhheewwww...... what a RIP off

You really aren't aware that you are the only one who even believes your conspiracy theories, right?
There is no truth in what you say, these arguments you keep on claiming "PC users keep making": Nobody has made that argument! You are right that it would be hypocrisy and amusing - obviously so, which is why nobody claims it!
But you keep on and on and on about it...

Why are you so hell-bent on reading arguments into texts that clearly haven't been made, while ignoring the entire rest any text without even adressing it?
Seriously, it makes it absolutely impossible to discuss anything with you.
I fully expect you to reply to this in a way that either completely ignores what I wrote or interprets in impossible ways. Or both.

Um I like how you just took the no out of my post and ignored the rest.

Let me repeat it for you since reading doesn't seem to be a strong suit for you.

PC. Has. The. Specs. To. Run. 4K. Max. Settings. 60. FPS.

Console. Has. To. Lower. Graphical. Fidelity. And. Performance. To. Reach. 4K.

In other words, it's a higher resolution of crappier graphical settings... PS4 Pro COULD have been a max settings and 60 fps 1440p machine instead. See what I'm getting at here?

You can do it. You can comprehend my post. I believe in you.

On the whole I personally prefer single player games and I have no problems whatsoever buying and playing only those games. If online games are your bag then you probably are better off with a PC to be honest. Not just because of pricing but there are also far more games geared toward that kind of thing.

But again it all comes back to the same thing...people are focussing so much on the online costs for consoles just as a straw to grasp at. If you don't want to pay a cost to play online then don't buy a console. Having an optional cost for optional on-line gaming doesn't make consoles a rip-off, it simply means you didn't do your research. I don't want to play online, I don't play online, I don't pay to play online. But in order to bash consoles PC owners are like a dog with a bone...."ZOMG U AV 2 PAY 2 PLY ONLINZ". Play on the medium that suits your requirements. Just because a medium doesn't suit your requirements that doesn't mean it's a rip-off.
Always online and streamed games will be forced even harder in the future, because that will give the publisher even more absurd amounts of control over their product and how you can consume it. They dont have to give you anything physical at all and in some cases you are already not eving buying the game anymore. You are just buying a "licence" to consume their entertainment product and you agree that they can cut you off whenever they want to.

I doubt it, I certainly hope not anyway. Constant online play requires continual resources. Even Bethesda couldn't manage it with Fallout 76, it's going to be especially hard for smaller companies to run non peer-to-peer on-line games. And I'm not sure what kind of "control" you think they want, I'm sure they probably just want you to buy the game, play it and enjoy it.

What you can and can't do with the game. Things like reselling, or lending to friends.

                    • I have an Xbox One X and a gaming PC by far I enjoy the Xbox One X for a couple reasons

                      1. I enjoy gaming on the couch - Yes I can hook my pc to my tv but it’s annoying
                      2. I never have to find patches or odd fixes Games just work
                      3. I don’t have to optimize games it’s already done for me

now don’t get me wrong I still love PC gaming but I tend to reserve it for games like

Stellaris, Company of Heroes, Total War and Civ games

                        • I don't think it's a ripoff. I enjoy sometimes just playing on the sofa with a controller. Could hook up a PC as well but eh too much work to keep swapping back and forth. As dumb as it may also be. I also really enjoy consoles for Ubisoft games so I don't have to deal with that dumb launcher lol

                          • Here are some reasons consoles are worth having, in the order of which they spring to mind:

                            • You can play your games offline without any issue whatsoever, whereas that's not always 100% true on PC
You can play your games off physical discs which are cheaper, able to be loaned to friends, or sold on the secondary market
                            • You can readily purchase your games without having an internet connection
You can sell your older consoles and recoup some of the costs much easier than you could with a PC
                            • Video game consoles have cultural significance
You can play split-screen multiplayer with friends and family using one piece of hardware ----- BIGGEST REASON!!!
                            • Consoles cost less, especially if you purchase an older model or generation.
Consoles are noob friendly and easier to play on for people with poor hand-eye coordination or disabilities
                            • Can you play Mario Party on a PC with your kids? That's what I thought!
Consoles take up less dedicated space in your home.
                            • Consoles are more energy efficient both in operation and construction. Good for your wallet and the environment!
Your friends are more likely to have a console
                            • Consoles are more culturally acceptable
                            Consoles are easier to transport

Really? I'm not a console guy but I'm really curious about this. I assumed every game these days, PC or console, checked in with a central server when it loaded up, and won't start if it can't reach it.

That's how Microsoft was trying to sell the Xbox One back when they first announced it, but they reversed their decision shortly after realizing anti-consumer practices weren't going to sell their Xbone. Xbox originally had it so that you couldn't play your video games if you didn't check into the server in a 24-hour period. I live in the country, so that is the reason I made the switch over to PlayStation. Funnily enough, during the PS4's reveal at E3, they poked fun at Xbox for their stupidity and made the fact that PlayStation would allow 100% offline play and would be DRM free the main selling point. Also, it was a hundred bucks cheaper than the Xbone.

Here's the video of it. It's roughly at the 1:00 mark where he talks about offline play, but he starts laying the beat down on Microsoft right from the beginning.
