I really love the slow piano of this part of the original Halo CE soundtrack. It makes you feel like youre losing, but not quite ready to lose and you will keep fighting.

Mass Effect was really good. Today I play Stellaris with the Mass Effect soundtrack mod.

I really love "You, Me, And Gravity" by Jim Guthrie and JJ Ipsen the soundtrack to Planet Coaster. There is something about it when I play Planet Coaster or even if I'm just playing the soundtrack by itself that I really like about the music that I can't explain and always seems to put me in a good mood.

Favorite composer is easily FlyByNo from the Endless Space series, and Amplitude Studios knows he's good; Endless Space 2 has dlc just for the soundtrack. My favorite of his will always be the "Together to the Stars" theme.

Love the Mass Effect original Trilogy soundtracks, probably my all time favourite. Mirror's Edge and Catalyst both have awesome soundtracks by Solar Fields. Really like the Persona 4 and 5 soundtracks and Nier Automata. Witcher 3 as well. The Last of Us theme is pretty good.

For older skool stuff probably killer instinct on the snes and Xenon 2 megablast on the Atari St (loads better than the Amiga version)

YES! I used to love rocking out that soundtrack while playing the game. Run DMC's theme song was stuck in my head forever...it still comes back to haunt me lol xD

For me, the best music for any game I have played that I can remember is the old Playstation game SSX Tricky!

Hands down Nobuo Uematsu is my favorite composer, he wrote the sound track of my youth. However, Yasunori Mitsuda is also one of my favs. He did the Chrono and Xeno games along with several others. I love his story: He wanted to compose music for Square, but they hired him as a sound designer and wouldn't let him write music. So, he went to the VP of Square after a couple years and had to threaten to quit unless they let him score a game. They caved and gave him Chrono Trigger, and the rest is history

I love that Nobuo & Yasunori's music is still covered by fans to this day. Here's a relaxing cover of Yasunori's song to get you chill this Friday:

P.S. I'm also a fan of Jeremy Soule. I got to talk to him once and he's a really kind and friendly person.

Frank Klepacki will always be king in my mind. Hearing any of the command & conquer / red alert tunes takes me right back to being a wide eyed six year old, not yet run down by the constant disappointment of adulting.
