My current favorite has to be Deep Rock Galactic. Ghost Ship games seems to really know what they are doing. I also love the whole concept of the game as well. Expendable dwarves used by a greedy space fairing company. It's a fantastic game seriously.

I did not even think of that, i guess it has become so mainstream any idea it started off as an indie left my mind. Great game and good pick

    Minecraft

It has brought me so much enjoyment, from exploring single-player to making friends (and enemies) in multiplayer. It also has a lot of mods and plugins to enhance the experience when the vanilla game gets to boring.

Without a miniscule portion of a shred of a doubt, Nuclear Throne. That game is so much damn fun and infinitely replayable once you get past the starting hours.

For me it's a tie between Super Meat Boy and Dead Cells.

"American McGee's Alice" was an indie game, wasn't it? That's certainly high on my list. As for something more recent - "Divinity Original Sin 2" is still considered indie, isn't it? "Senua's Sacrifice" billed itself as a AA game. "Shadowrun Returns" infused the cyberpunk genre with new energy. I don't really have a favorite, but there are plenty worth holding up for attention.

Guacamelee or Cosmic Star Heroine. If your a fan of Chrono Trigger or Phantasy Star I highly recommend Cosmic Star Heroine. Very funny game with humor that makes fun of gaming tropes (one being RPG fan habits), battle system is interesting and so far no real grind. Its available on almost every platform for at most $15.

Runner 2. There's not a lot of cool music based indie titles that I really get into, but Runner 2 was one of them, and I played it for hours, sometimes the same level over and over, just because it was fun. Haven't played Runner 3 yet because it's still only on Switch right now and I don't have one, but I can't wait to try it when I get enough money to buy it. All my money currently has been about Christmas stuff so...

Terraria, without a doubt, 1210 hours on the pc version (steam), that's not including the xbox version I played and the ps4 version I also played.
