I can't give accurate metrics. I'm almost positive I've gamed in some capacity for around 25 years.
My top 5 are
1) Civilizations VI: Absolutely loved being able to do a long-form strategy game. I spent six days in a stalemate with a friend.
2) X-COM 2: There's something really thrilling about hot-seating some guerilla warfare.
3) Bladestorm: Nightmare: Kessen's spiritual successor. No real thought involved, just hammy dialogue, lots of dudes to slaughter and a power trip.
4) Fire Emblem: Heroes: My go-to companion whenever I'm in transit for a few hours, which is pretty common.
5) Grand Theft Auto V: A shooting spree isn't a shooting spree unless you're airlifting a tank and shooting at pursuers.

I've been playing video games as long as my memory goes and I'm 17, so somewhere around 12 years or so. And in no particular order, Snake Eater, Majora, Red Dead Redemption, Tomb Raider (the original not the square enix uncharted clone), Minecraft, Persona 3.Last edited by Nic; 12-20-2018, 04:56 AM.

I believe I was around 4 years old when I first played a video game. It may have been Super Mario World or Star Fox. I've been gaming for 26 years.
My top five games of all time is tricky. Sometimes games move up and down. I could choose the 5 most influential on my life, FFVII, Chrono Trigger, Wild Arms, Super Mario Rpg, Breath of Fire 4.
Or I could choose the top five games I go back to all the time. FFVII, Breath of Fire 4, Romancing Saga, Final Fantasy XII, ES: Oblivion.
Or top 5 game soundtracks. FFVII, Romancing Saga, Chrono Trigger, Wild Arms 3, Persona 4.
I mean, FFVII is basically on every list, but the rest shuffle around based on what exactly makes the game great.

If been playing games for about three years, My top games are
I have 1100 hours Rainbow six siege honestly, it's my favorite game of all time, it has free DLC and in the upper ranks, the community isn't as toxic. 400 hours in Call of duty black ops, I have to pick this in particular because it just plays the best all the new COD's just aren't to my liking and in the older ones had unbalanced guns, unbalanced maps, and the last 2 releases before BO3 where cheeks. +1000 hours in Battlefield 4 just a great game. World of Tanks, it's an amazing free to play experience on console, it has a great online community and there's very little toxicity. 250 hours on Forza Horizon, The story is amazing and it still good looks, but it's a shame that all the other releases feel like carbon copies of the original.

I am not sure the exact age I was, but it was mid 70s on an old knob Pong machine from Sears my parents had, lol. So I have been gaming around 40 years now.
My list in no particular order... I am 47 now....
Pac-Man.....cause vaulted Vid games to fame, though I could use Space Invaders, Donkey Kong or Asteroids, but I remember most of the hype over Pac-Man.
Skyrim....cause, 3k hours on it.
StarCraft w/Brood, because it is still being played and is still a great game.
FreeLancer...microsoft release of space game, fun, still fun after many years.
Mass Effect...entire series, don't ask me to pick one.

1. Monster Hunter Freedom Unite (PSP)
2. Pokemon Red/Blue
3. Goldeneye 64
4. Command & Conquer
5. Unreal Tournament (1999)
Even as I wrote that list, it kept changing orders and titles. So, honorable mentions are:
* Persona 5
* Metal Gear Solid (PSX)
* Marvel vs. Capcom 2

Started playing games back in 1993/94. Have been gaming for 25 years-ish!
Started with a SNES and had that for a few years and then when the PS1 released lots of people i knew abandoned their early to mid 90s systems, and i bought many of friends for so cheap. I painted some Warhammer in exchange for a NES lol, and got a Sega Mega Drive off someone else for about £15. I never had a PS1 until about 1998.
Top 5 games:
1: Resident Evil Remake.
2: Metal Gear Solid 2.
3: Bayonetta 2.
4: Streets of Rage 2.
5: Parasite Eve 2:
It appears i really like sequels.

I've been playing since '84-'85 roughly... starting with the Commodore 64. We'll call it 34 years... and I'm 38 now, so I'd call that a good chunk of my lifetime.
As for my top five favorites... my answer would likely change depending on the day of the week I got asked, but here goes:
1. Super Metroid - This was the game that really set the standard for exploration and item-based progression for generations to come. It wasn't the first to try to marry all the concepts together, but it was the best.
2. Chrono Trigger - Still my favorite JRPG to date (admittedly nostalgia is a factor) but again a standard-setting title: multiple endings, party management, a cohesive story... it all came together so well.
3. Metal Gear Solid - I flip between the 1st and 3rd games in the series, but... the first was the one that really changed the way I saw 3rd-person tactical shooters, and had that glorious Kojima-ness all over it to boot. Maybe it was a bit heavy-handed with cutscenes (or more than a bit) but I loved it all the same.
4. Super Mario Bros. 3 - Still to this day one of the ultimate platformers, and shifted the entire industry's outlook on what a game could be. This was the original title that showed the world what "polish" meant.
5. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past - Most people usually roll with Ocarina when they bring up the best in franchise. I beg to differ: aLTTP was the foundation that OoT was laid upon, but wasn't compromised by consoles first foray into actual 3D titles - and all the technical hamstringing that went along with it. Ocarina of Time was a great game too, but it did not have the same scope of its predecessor.
I'm realizing here, rather amusingly, that for a self-professed PC gamer there's nothing but older console titles at the top of my list.
