Game and Watch/Play and Time back in 1981 count? Handhelds by Nintendo and another company I got from HK. As for consoles, I used to play at my classmate's home Atari 2600 with Wizards of War/Wor(?) and Pacman and what seems to be Battle Tank.
My first home console was the NES of my bro (1988). Then back in 1991, when I had saved enough, I got a SNES with Link to the Past( And still one of the best).
Top 5 games?
No special ranking.
Biohazard's 0 to 3, Code Veronica, 4,5 (6 was a drammamine inducing [email protected] fest)
Skyrim
Xenogears
FF until 12 (13 is so so)
StarOcean
Zelda Series
MGS

20, which is insane now that I think about since gaming has been a major part of my entire life just about.
Top 5 games are:
- Final Fantasy IX
- Nier Automata
- Pokemon Colosseum
- Persona 5
- Guild Wars
Coming up with that top 5 was tough, they're in no particulat order after Final Fantasy IX.

i've been playing games for 12 or 13 years
and while i didn't get to enjoy the era of nintendo vs sega i got to play a lot of nes games due to special circumstances when i was young
now my top 5, i don't think these games are perfect, some of them have a lot of problems but i still enjoy them
1.megaman x6
i know how bad this game is but man i can't help myself i love this game, i played it when i was too young and even finished it many times, and the soundtrack is something i enjoy even to this day
2.kirby's adventure
the first game i ever played i has a pretty special place in my hearth and well it's kirby
3.mario & luigi super star saga
also probably my fav rpg and i love the game's humour
4.hollow knigth
i think that objectively this game is a piece of art. the beautiful music, the world that it builds, the bosses, and that feeling of getting lost i the ruins of a once bright world
5.smash 64
i used to play this with my brother a lot and i remember enjoying the living shit out of it

I've been gaming since Diablo 2 got me started. However long ago that was. If I absolutely had to list a top 5, it might go way off the norm but I'll explain.
1: Shadow of the Colossus - Nothing in gaming has hit me as hard as walking up and seeing the first Colossus at the games original release on ps2.
2: High velocity bowling and PAiN - going to lump these two together because the reason I enjoyed both of them so much is the same. Years worth of couch co-op with my local friends.
3: Spare parts - It was my first platinum trophy on the PS3. And I really enjoyed running around the game randomly slapping my co-op partner.
4: Demons souls - Just for the rage it inspired.
5: Midnight club - Because I got to have a racing game in the list. And midnight club spefically brings back fond memories of spending several days just customizing the cars.

Gaming for 20 years plus.
My top 5:
1) Diablo 2 - i won't say the whole Diablo series since i missed out on Diablo but i am aware of it's lore. Also i've played Diablo 3 and i have to say that they did an okay job.
2) Counter Strike series
3) Senuas Hellblade
4) Elder scrolls series/ Elder scrolls online
5) World of Warcraft (vanilla)

Since the mid 80's. It used to be pretty easy to make my top 10 out of my all time favorites from the 90's, but there's just too many games I loved to death but rarely make time to revist, and too many games across too many generations that I want to put into a top 25, and just can't reconcile cutting anything. Can barely be sure of a ranked order anymore.
Classic Top 5:
1.) Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
2.) Legend of Oasis
3.) Final Fantasy VI
4.) Chrono Trigger
5.) Heart of Darkness
Modern Top 5:
1.) Nex Machina
2.) One Way Heroics: Mystery Chronicles
3.) Metal Gear Solid V
4.) Dark Souls III
5.) Street Fighter V

I've been gaming in some capacity since about 2005. I grew up poor so all I had was the Gameboy Advance for about 5 years or so.
My top 5 games?
In no particular order:
- Halo franchise up to 4
- Starcraft
- Battlefield 2
- Mario Kart (all, but I specifically loved the DS version)
- Star Wars Battlefront 2 (original, not the microtransaction mess we have now)

I don't really rank them because it's difficult to do so, but my five favorite games for the most part are:
Far Cry 2
Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory
Hyper Light Drifter
Halo: Combat Evolved
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
Bastion sneaks its way in there sometimes. I imagine Red Dead Redemption 2 will as well. A consistent top five is almost impossible to keep in my opinion.

The ones I would love to keep playing, and would pay for new missions:
Crysis 1 (not 2 or 3)
Stalker series.
The civilization series, including Alpha Centaury
Tomb Raiders series before Angel of Darkness
Far Cry 2
Bioshock 1 and 2 (no Infinite)
Alien Isolation
Dishonored
Elder scrolls Oblivion and Skyrim
Dead Space 1 and 2 (no 3). But I hated the bad controls of DS1.
Which 5 ones would I make to happen if I had a magical wand? I'm not sure. It would be a hard choice.Last edited by xadu; 12-19-2018, 10:49 PM.

27 here, I've been gaming since I was 5.
1. Morrowind - Perfect game for a Masochist like me. You're slow, poor, and weaker than a worm. Anything and everything can kill you and the game actively tries to make your experience as painful as possible. Push through that deep and dark mire and you will experience a unique and fun adventure. Has not aged well so thread cautiously.
2. Bloodborne/Dark Souls - 10/10 Atmosphere and Dread. The lore made me moist.
3. FFXIV - Didn't expect to place an MMO in this. Fell in love with the story and characters. Heavensward will always be near and dear to my heart. Long live Ishgard.
4. Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney - I was just a young lad when I picked up this gem. I had no idea the roller coaster I was about to go through. Turnabout Goodbyes.
5. (so many games can take this place but I'll throw in Starcraft Broodwars) The game that sparked my PC gaming career. I will never forget when Raynor told Kerrigan that he would kill her the next time they met... r-right Starcraft 2?

I've been playing games since I first touched the original Rayman for PS1. I've played a lot of games and have found a lot of favorites, but I think I could make a list.
1. Hyper Light Drifter. I will never stop recommending this game to anyone who wants a good action rpg set in 3/4 view and doesn't want any dialogue. It's got tight and smooth controls, beautiful scene and character designs, an amazing soundtrack, and a story experience I go to over and over again. I bought this game for PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch just so I can play it anywhere, anytime.
2. Minecraft: Feed the Beast. Just get yourself a good rig and go play the better Minecraft. I never looked back.
3. Hollow Knight, for almost all of the reasons I chose Hyper Light Drifter, except the art style is differe, there's dialogue, and it's a side scroller.
4. Borderlands 2. Probably the greatest shooter of all time. Great characters, emotional dialogue of a wide range, action packed fast paced shooting that feels like it has an impact, very interest8ing story, and of course it looks rather unique compared to most other shooters.
5. The Kittens Game. I did a slightly lengthy review on another forum page here but it's the only incremental game worth playing.
