Fable 3. The game wasn't very good to begin with but since they couldn't produce any kind of character development whatsoever with a villain that only became a problem 60% of the way through the story, the ending felt meaningless and rushed. The game was already short but you could inadvertently speedrun this shit.

Tales of Zestaria. That game...I actually turned around and sold it once I finished it. You go through the entire game dealing with this villain who became corrupt and basically wanted to destroy the world. In the end, instead of killing him, you give up 4 of your allies to purify him, and then you get out into a coma to place a magic shield across the world. I realize that the tales games are generally somewhat dour but this game pissed me off so much after I spent all that time reaching the end.

I preordered that game and as part of the preorder you were allowed into the beta. The game ran like ass on my system and I was bored with the gunplay so I called gamestop and cancelled my preorder. Before I was even off the phone with the lady I was disconnected from the server and my beta account deactivated. I was impressed really.

God of War (2018)
***SPOILERS***
First they constantly talk about Thor throughout the game, then you go through the Telltale-style boss fight with the leprechaun. At this point your all amped up to fight the real final boss: Thor (or so you think), so you go clean up all the other stuff, get your gear all maxed out, clear Muspelheim and Niflheim, and get ready to open up Jotunheim with the expectation Thor would interrupt you, because there's no way that was the final boss fight. You head to the world tree, enter Jotunheim, some lore happens, then you follow the path and finally you get...
Credits.
Teaser.

10/10 most disappointing ending I've experienced. The story part of it was great, but the end was unexpected, there was no real build up. It just happens. You think there is more. Then there is nothing. The first Troll was more difficult than the final boss.
Why do they have to keep taking the challenge out of everything?

Not to mention Soul Reaver did the whole cyclical timeline, the present is the future and the future is already written revelation thing way back in 1999. And that was also a really abrupt ending too, but they at least were open about having had to just wrap things up to get the game shipped and hoping to see it through with a trilogy. Sadly that trilogy lost it's genre focus by the end and lost it's direction.Originally posted by Valkenr View PostGod of War (2018)

Still really enjoyed God of War and the sentimental, personal aspect of where they went, for their own reasons, was fulfilling but it definitely felt a bit short changed as far as the adventure and world building goes. I immediately felt like the other realms were shelved, and most feel a bit undercooked compared to Midgard and Alfheim. At the end of the day, they shipped a $60 game and then some, but I couldn't help feeling like a lot was shelved out of necessity from the inaccessible realms to most of the ones you visit feeling undercooked compared to Midgard and Alfheim. Same for recycled trolls.
From MGSV to FFXV, I feel like this was the generation of games that got too big for their britches and had to just come out with phantom pains. God of War probably pulled it off the most and disguises it the best. Plus, we are getting more, so it doesn't sting.

A wise decision lolOriginally posted by Hadley View PostClive Barker's Jericho. Not that the game was good, but having an "ending" like that didn't help with the overall sour taste the entire experience left.
Edit: Was trying to quote Matcam.. apparently I still need to get gud at these forumsLast edited by Hadley; 12-22-2018, 08:57 AM.
