Warhammer Online : Age of Reckoning
Was a great game that sadly died due to bad future development IMO. This is when I learned how terrible EA is as a company. Any petition help or services were non existent, terrible customer service.

Folktale. Some indie game that was being worked on. Devs just upped and abandoned it. Had a pretty interesting story, RPG, Sandbox mix. But some drama happened and the game got downvoted into oblivion and the dev quit lol. Oh well.

I can think of two.
Firstly, Dawn of War III. I never bought it (luckily), but I heard enough about it to stay away. There was hope that Relic would update it enough to make it worth playing, but then they up and abandoned it. Real shame, because I absolutely loved DoWII and was so hyped for a sequel.
Secondly... C&C4. I know, I know! It was basically C&C Arena with the name C&C4 slapped on to it, and was dumbed down compared to the rest of the series. But I enjoyed it for what it was and had some fun with it. But if EA kept with it, I reckon it could have gotten a lot better. For example, when you're in the lobby before a game, the fact it would say "Game Mode: Domination" suggested the potential for other modes, maybe something more akin to classic C&C? More could have been done with Crawler as well, like having to manually build attachments that would act as structures, like turrets or a Barracks. That was the sort of thing I imagined when I first heard about the idea of a mobile base. So I think the game had potential, but it was released too early and abandoned too early.

There's a lot that could go on this list but I'll travel some road less walked and say Amalur. 38 Studios, the studio founded by former Baseball legend Curt Schilling and mired in a bit of controversy due to politics and possibly a bit of mismanagement, crafted Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, which was a bit of an underrated RPG. One I recommend you try if you haven't. But what some people surprisingly still don't know is that that RPG was supposed to be the gateway introduction to a full MMORPG set in the same universe known as Amalur. The lore was written by best-selling fantasy author R.A. Salvator with Spawn creator Todd McFarlane handling the art. The MMORPG was set to be one that could have been something interesting. Unfortunately, a series of things happened and 38 Studios was inevitably closed.
It's hard to say whether Amalur would have been a solid MMORPG or another flash in the pan. But the story behind it is an interesting read if you delve into it. What Culture did a video that did ok covering the initial issues and some of the end of days. But they left out a few key details such as the publishing deal that the studio was said to have lined up that would have helped see the MMORPG through to launch that was blown out of the water when the governor of the state went public with information about the studio's economic council deal and some of its troubles.
It's a bit of a complex story for sure. But Amalur is one I would have liked to have seen that I feel did indeed die too early.

Strike Vector was a promising "six degrees of freedom" multiplayer spectacle with interesting combat and tight controls. It lacked exposure and thus a dedicated player base. The early days were mad affairs of dual-mech dog fighting. The steep learning curve and lack of ranking system left the newcomers in the lurch while the veterans feasted on their nubile corpses. I commend the creators for their development efforts. I condemn them for their lack of foresight and marketing talent. It could have been something. The lackluster followup cash grab "EX" sealed its fate. Goodbye, Strike Vector. You deserved better.

Twisted Metal on the PS3. Sure, the story wasn’t the classic tournament setting it should have been, but the online was great fun. After the Axel DLC was released the developers pretty much abandoned the game. That hurt even more when we found out they had plans to add several more classic fan favorite cars from the PS1 games to it, but simply never did and scrapped it.

Game might be a bit of a meme: Lawbreakers.
Pretty good fps that valued aim over abilities use with a really good movement system.
