Stormcloaks or Imperial Legion?Tags: None

I think they could with the dragon born ass there ally. We are pretty Overpowered even without modes we could craft enchanted equipment that outclass dadric artifacts. Thalmor love using there destruction magic unfortunately itโs incredibly underpowered on higher difficulty.

I pick the Imperials because when you dig deeper rather than look at the civil war on the surface, you realize that a Stormcloack victory has a high potential in leading up to a new all-out war with Thalmor. And with loosing Skyrim, Empire gets even weaker and gets wrecked by Thalmor. And without the Empire, all the remaining provinces will have to bend their knee too.

I'm pretty split on the matter, but I usually end up siding with the Legion. While the Empire did vassalize to the Thalmor, I think gaining independence would just give the Thalmor even more reason to invade Skyrim.
Think about it. Who would stop them? If the Legion couldn't defeat the Thalmor in a total war, then neither could the Stormcloaks. That's my take.

literally what I had just said, and I agree. They do not set up much for me to see any purpose in the Empirials dealing with the Thalmor like they do.Originally posted by Alexrd View Post
Only because the Empire doesn't give them the freedom and independence they want. The Empire could let Skyrim be and ally with them to fight the Thalmor. As opposed to pandering the Thalmor at the expense of Skyrim's citizens.

Personally storm cloak and here are some of the reasons why.
Your not a thalmor puppet
Freedom of religion
Get an awesome nickname like STORMEBLADE!!
make more profit from legion corps Muahahahahaha ๐
Boy Do Generalt Tallius has some niiiiiice armor great I can loot the body Seeing Iโm a stormcloak ๐
Support a True King (tho racist and flawed) who that loves Skyrim and can think for himself and great charisma with excellent leadership skills. Who also FAIRLY fight the last king in a honorable one on one fight to the death and win the throne.

Itโs not politics politics. It political parties in a game called Skyrim.

You can pick posts apart like that all you want. The Dominion's tactic for final victory is to break up the empire and defeat them region by region. It's why they demanded the independence of Hammerfell in the peace deal. The Dominion knows it cannot defeat the empire if it is united but thinks it can win if it is fractured.Originally posted by Alexrd View Post
Apparently not since they have accepted the treaty.
Giving into their demands is a way to break the spirit and morale of your people. Specially when their demands revolve around having power over said people, forbidding them to be themselves, to live their culture, living in fear of punishment, to not have a say over their lives.
Their numbers (of both factions) are proportional to what they will be in the future. So why not take care of things in the present, since the disadvantage of numbers exists?
That's false. What they aren't is the type of people who are willing to sell themselves and their ways to appease their enemies.
They don't "keep killing each other in duels". Their kings can be challenged (and only by Jarls) and killed in duels. That it happens doesn't mean it keeps happening. It's rare.
The Nords aren't the Empire. They are part of it. And the Empire during the events of Skyrim is a joke, in practice a mere puppet institution for the Thalmor.
An independent Skyrim may work together with the empire when the time comes, or it may not. Either way the overall effort against the Dominion will be weaker if everybody is fighting independently than it would be if they were being led by one strong emperor.
If Skyrim became independent and I were a Thalmor general I'd begin the war by hitting Skyrim first. The Stormcloak leadership would be hesitant to let Imperial armies into Skyrim because they would fear they might reclaim Skyrim as part of the empire, then they'd have to fight to get them to leave all over again. Perhaps the Stormcloaks would eventually agree to let Imperial armies in to fight with them, but by that time the Nords would have been hammered and would be just barely holding on to the strongest fortifications that hadn't fallen yet. Probably places like Whiterun, which is a great natural fortification.
Or maybe they could hit Cyrodiil first with all of their might, hoping that the Stormcloaks would not risk their lives to come to the aid of the remains of the empire they despise so much.
Either way, an empire not united is so much easier a target than an empire united.

I picked the Stormcloaks only because I was a Nord. Other than that, I do not care to participate in a foreign country and its unjust uprising.

The Imperials and Stormcloaks should have united and taken down the Thalmor. Just sayin'.
