Bloodborne had taken me by surprise. It was the PS plus game for the month and I thought why not give it a whirl. It just immediately sucked me in and I was hooked. If there is another Bloodborne game I do hope it's developed by From Software. I'm not sure a different developer could do it justice. What do you guys think?

I could see it working. I feel like the story was wrapped up well enough that another game attached directly to the events of the first would feel forced, maybe we could take on the role of a hunter from a bit earlier and the timeline. Or maybe one of the other factions like someone from the choir or something.

I can agree with that. I was hoping and had seen it mentioned that there could be a change in direction. Before Sekiro was announced there was speculation that Bloodborne2 could be a story about the hunter from the far East that was found in one of the cells. I think a return to the Victorian gothic theme might be Overkill. If they could create a new setting that's perhaps a prequel or something it may work.

I'm sure there will be a sequel. Though Sekiro is the next meal, FromSoftware will return to that world. They have a long history of sequel games. Plus they've stated that they are done with Dark Souls. Since Sekiro uses verticality, I believe BB2 will advance the genre in some way like that. So probably next gen.

I haven't given up hope. There's no reason From Software can't also be making Bloodborne 2, while also delivering Sekiro, since they had such quick turnaround time between Bloodborne and Dark Souls III. They're clearly an efficient developer.
Hopefully Sony sees the value in paying them what they're worth to produce it, if they're open to it. I wonder sometimes, because they're starting to seem really conservative and focused on fewer, more expensive "Big Hollywood" games who's marketing budget alone is enough to pay for one Until Dawn or Gravity Rush 2... and it seems like anyone who's not making the next billion dollar, award winning Naughty Dog-style game can only get a deal to produce a PS VR, PlayLink game. Hell, if we couldn't even get a Pro patch for Bloodborne to fix the frame pacing.
I just hope they're not back to being the parent company that dropped the ball with Demon's Souls. Then again, it's good that From Software is back to being multiplatform with Sekiro, since Dark Souls being multiplatform is the reason it became a phenomenon, instead of something that would have confused Greg Miller and Colin Moriarty back in the IGN days.
