Basically every game I play takes me ages to complete because I suck at gaming (but love it) and I like to take my time to explore and do everything (or most things, I'm not a completionist).

The longest, FF VII.
About 2/3 through the game and all my saves got corrupted.
I was so pissed off I didn't play it again for years but did start again and finish it.
The longest, without a break in the play through, is one of the games I'm playing now.
Zombidle:REMONSTERED It's a clicker/idle game.
I have 2537 hours in game since I started in Aug of 2017 (average just over 5hours/day).
Right now I'm somewhere between 1/2 and 2/3 through and maybe another 1000 hours (guesstimate) from finishing all levels and getting all in-game achievements.I game, therefore I am.

It takes me forever to beat every game I play these days, because I have twins and they don't leave me a lot of down time. For example I'm playing Mass Effect 3 again, and I will play for 30 minutes, then I will leave it paused for an hour while I care for the kids. I actually wake up at 3 or 4am most days so I have some time to play games without being interrupted.

My first game I spent ages on was Elite on my Amiga 520. Docking the ship always killed me it took a while to get the hang of it. Then my parents bought me a Sega mastersystem and there was a free game with it Alex the kid in wonderland I played this over and over until finally I completed it, much to the annoyance of my siblings. My first PC and I got Baldurs gate with it. What a game changer this was for me. I played it for a year or more finishing it several times with different party setups. That game started my on Dune 2000. Fallout 1 and 2. Red alert and all it's iterations. Then Baldurs gate 2 came out and it kidnapped me for most of my mid to late teens. I picked up Diablo when it came out and it's sequel (still playing diablo 2 lol) 20 years of diablo almost. I have fond memories of going to arcade shops and wasting tonnes of money on games like double Dragon. Shinobi. Rastan. Wondering. R-type. Rambo 3. I'm 40 years old now and I enjoy a few hours of Diablo or I will load up some other black aisle game like torment. Icewind Dale one of the fallout games. I love them still. My son plays gta and fortnite and fallout 4 now on his ps4 and I also enjoy watching him play. I'm a gamer albeit old school at heart. Best of luck with this site Jeremy.

There are a bunch i've been trying for years that haven't beaten, but Skyrim I believe took over a year because of me getting distracted with sidequests and my former addiction to Eve Online. Finally beat it because my wife's kids saw it and got interested so I finally beat Alduin.
Now The Witcher I may never beat as it took three attempts just to get into the game but after 15 hours or so the bank robbery quest interactions throw me off so bad I uninstalled and moved onto TW2

I've heard the first entry is pretty terrible. 2 fixes a lot of the problems, but, still isn't great, and we all know 3 is a masterpiece (supposedly, I've never played it).Originally posted by The_Dirk_Diggler View PostThere are a bunch i've been trying for years that haven't beaten, but Skyrim I believe took over a year because of me getting distracted with sidequests and my former addiction to Eve Online. Two games in particular I remember from my childhood.
First was Sonic Riders, first played it at a friends place. When I finally got my own PS2 he let me borrow it and it took me another couple years to finally beat it. (Still have that copy actually lol)
The other was Need for Speed Underground 2. That one took me like three years, and not just because of lack of time put into it. Then again I played the whole thing on the hardest mode and didn't use the internet to beat it :P
But yea there are a few others but none off the top of my head

Ooooh i have a game for this. I still have yet to complete it in fact. We ❤ Katamari. A favorite of mine. But the last thing you have to do is roll up 1 MILLION ROSES! Now you're probably thinking but it's Katamari so you get bigger and can collect more. NOPE! Once you reach a certain size you stop growing, amd can only collect roses is in groups of 1 or 5. THAT'S IT 1 OR 5!!! You want a real feel for what 1 million is like? THAT'S THE WAY TO DO IT!

The last game I remember me playing and having a bit of a long grind to finish is Berserk and the Band of the Hawk. Getting the platinum for that game is a really long and boring grind. It's not that it will take years to complete it but it really becomes repetitive and boring at some point when aiming for that trophy.

I agree on TC's FFVIII, I never even finished it, but I did play it for years, I just never came around to beat it because there was so much to do.
Also, Oblivion, man I played that game for a looooong time.Currently playing 'Vermintide 2'
Currently reading 'The Blade Itself'
