I'm one of the few people left who still have the Best Buy Gamer Club Unlocked until it runs out. So I get %20 off on everything I buy. When that ends I'll order through my local video game store likely to support them. Otherwise I'll get some of the more obscure things through Video Games Plus Canada. They've got even the most obscure stuff. For some reason the SEO on all search engines never likes to bring up their website oddly though so no one knows they exist even when you explicitly search their name.

I avoid gamestop at all costs.

In terms of digital on PC I just use GoG. DRM free is the way for me, and its less of a mess than steam is. I still have issues figuring out how to navigate the UI of steam and why I get random notifications sometimes. Plus GoG gives me free games sometimes

I know that lots of folks have been complaining about it, but I go to GameStop mostly. Never had a problem with them. Either that, or I use Amazon.

My favorite place to buy games is Game X-Change. They've got tons of retro games + consoles, movies, and current gen games, but the only problem is they're not very competitively priced. It's a fun shopping experience, especially since the people working there are true gamers and will talk shop with you until they realize they've gotta get back to work LOL. And they don't try to up sell you every chance they get either! My friend almost opened one up in town, but his wife talked him out of it. Shortly after somebody else opened the one my town has anyway. Opportunity lost...

Other than that, because I work at Wal-Mart and get a 10% discount, I often buy new releases there purely for the price. E-bay also has really good deals if you look for them.

Best Buy until my Gamer's Club Unlocked expires. Then I'll probably move to Amazon.

Well, we only have a GameStop where I live. We used to have 2-3 game stores. It's kinda a bummer to be honest. I do like going to the game section of a local hardware store called Media Markt though. I mostly shop at webstores nowadays and have games sent to me by mail though.

I used to get hard copies in stores like Gamestop or Walmart but CD's get scratched and take space and I'm now in a French-speaking country so it's not easy to find titles in English.
I like to use Steam or Gog. I'm able to order a game or directly buy it and download it the same day with customer support that is rather hard to get from a store, and also gift it to my son in the States and he gets it within an hour.

I use steam because they have a wide selection and great sales even though the user interface is broken half the time. I don't really see the point in driving to retail stores these days since they don't always have what I want and can't compete with prices.

I still prefer physical copies so I tend to do most of my tripple A shopping at the typical anti-hipster outlets like best buy and Walmart.

Regional Online stores like Coolshop.de and Netgames.de, I have a bookmark folder full of online stores I always compare prices with but in most cases one of these 2 has the lowest prices.

Steam. Many years back when i still played World of Warcraft, I used to buy my physical copies of the expansions from a local shop chain called Datablitz. Since I'm in the SEA region of Steam, I cannot gift the cheaper games I buy to friends outside my region. In those cases I go to GoG to buy the game there for gifting.
