Right now I would say most achievements are really just fun little challenges you can do. Some I find humorous others just fun to complete. But really they work even better when gear is on the line. like how halo 3 did it, giving specific armor for achievements. when they factor into small cosmetics in game it make the achievements actually worth something

When I play a game I set my own goals of what I want to accomplish, and if that doesn't satisfy all the predetermined achievements, then so be it. In other words, don't care.

Yeah I think of achivements or trophys like a bonus. If they seem like they might be fun ill give em a shot. I play games for story and the gameplay. Seems some are obsessed with with achivements but hey if thats your jam then go for it. For some people achivements seem to have an OCD effect lol. I must have touch of it because open world games i must see every inch of the map..idk??

I used to work for achievements because I felt if I didn't have them then I didn't really play the game. I'm glad I'm over that now. One of the reasons I enjoy the Switch is because it doesn't have anything like trophies or achievements and let's me feel like I'm done with the game when I feel like I am.

A lot of achievements are made cheap by allowing players to get easy achievements. It might make some people happy, but if achievements are given out like candy then they lose a lot of their charm for me. I never really cared much for achievements when I played World of Warcraft as well. I just did the ones that gave a decent reward. They were treated just like another quest with a different name.

I feel that achievements should be crafted to make players enjoy doing the more complex and difficult parts of a game to make the game feel more rewarding for learning how to be better at it rather than having achievements rain down from the sky by just gaining levels or picking up your first item.

Achievements are nice to have around, especially for the completionists.

I've never really been the type to obsess over 100%-running a game or gathering all the achievements, but it's nice when the achievement is difficult to earn, or requires the player to accomplish very particular or situational tasks.
