  • The Crew vs The Crew 2

Only have enough cash to get one and can't decide which would have the better bang for my buck.

I don't care too much for the boats or planes in 2, or the invisible walls I keep hearing about in 1. I just wanna be able to race and explore the world underground 2 style.

I think crew2 is absolute shit. Tried it when it was free for a weekend. To be frank I wouldn't buy either. But if you must I'd recommend the first.

Here is my two cents about Crew2 that I written when I tried it a few months ago.
I've seen shit games, but this is worse than any racing game I ever saw. Yes, even the abomination that was the NFS Most wanted by criterion which I thought was the worst until now.

It is one thing that it has shit physics, that is to be expected. But who the fuck uses nearest neighbor resampling on UI elements and FMV when you play at anything else than 1920x1080? Well this game of course. I can't even begin to count the problems with the game.

It's not just a shit game, it is developed by imbeciles from the looks of it. And this whole idea that the goal of the game is to gain followers is another joke. Why do you think I ignore social media? Because I don't give a shit what strangers think about me.

Oh and this is the first game, where not just the driving physics that are a joke. But here even the flying physics are. Haven't seen anything like it. The biggest joke of all, is that I couldn't figure out where elevators were mapped on the default control scheme. So I couldn't fly up / down, but still managed to complete the level, because when I crashed the game just re-spawned me facing the next checkpoint so all I had to do is accelerate -> crash - repeat until the end of the level. Almost as if this entire game was meant for casual players on a freaking iphone.

Just saying. Maybe give a description to the link you are asking people to click? Anyways, Yes! I do have an adult website to run, lol. Would you like to be a part of it? Maybe a mother or a sister you would like to email me some of their photos so I can profit off of it?

isturbo1984 It's a youtube link, not a download link, so there's no reason for people to be suspicious. And given the context of the thread, it probably has something to do with Meet The Crew. Okay, I don't feel like explaining a joke post to a professional pervert anymore. Have fun with my mom or whatever.

The crew 2 is a fairly mediocre arcade racer wrapped with an insufferable narrative (Chasing likes and subscribers is a terrible framing device for a racing game, and screams "We don't think you think racing is interesting!"). Customisation is limited and the game seems designed around it's microtransactions. Also it's always online and in within an hour of playing I was booted out to main menu from driving with the message "connection to server lost."

Driving across a condensed map of the USA is pretty cool, and the core driving mechanics aren't really bad. There's a destruction derby mode that was enjoyable for an hour or two. But the game taken on the whole seemed awful to me. Can't speak on the Crew 1 as I've not played it. I'm sure there are many much better driving games for you to enjoy, probably a fair bit cheaper than these two.

I've played the first game. Wasn't quite my style, but it's not a bad game. I hear the second one is better in every way. Video games tend to work like this. Unless you are playing something transformation, like say... the Uncharted series, its usually best to just go with the sequel. There is essentially no reason to play the first one. I mean, its literally the same map, as well.

The crew 1 is meh, has annoying mission types but has a cool open world to explore, The crew 2 gets rid of most of the annoying mission types but i really hate the boats and planes. If i were you i would skip both of those and buy forza horizon 4 which does similar things the crew does but way better

Welp, seems no one here has anything good to say about it. Any idea on a good NFSU2 successor?

Edit: That I can get from steam

I disagree. The only thing that usually improves with successive games in the series is graphics. Generally gameplay is more shallow and "streamlined" as series go on.

Well, no, you don't disagree. "Streamlined" doens't necessarily translate into being shallow or dumbed down. Some great examples of sequels being more streamlined and improved would be Monster Hunter World, Mass Effect 2, Halo 2, Resident Evil 4, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Uncharted 2&3. With video games, unlike movies, developers aren't trying to tell the next tale in a saga. They are just trying to bring you the next evolution in a game iteration. Sequels tend to get better. However, that doesn't account for nostalgia.
