I play video games upside down! Meaning I always have an inverted Y-axis. It happened because I used to go to some kids house to play GoldenEye which didn't let you change it, so it just ended up playing that way to this very day.
For a brief time I also played with an inverted X-axis after player one of the Sims games for a long time, but I recovered from that.

I figured as much too but Judging by the reactions of people around me, apparently not. I don't know for sure though. But you bring up an interesting point. There needs to be more ergonomic mice for lefties.I always kind of figured when you see left-handed controller options and such that no one ever bothered to test them out. Like they were just there to be throwaway alt layouts.

@PriestTroit
"look! he rotated that quick on a perfect horizontal axis! cheating bitch using shotgun and controller! its the only way he can win! cheating bitch!"
lol i love it

Dude, so many times I'd boot up the Xbox to play Morrowind only to find that my character's save file was corrupted somehow. That's when I learned the value of multiple saves and saving often.

It's even funnier when the other team recognizes that you were actually using a controller in the final kill-cam. They're like, "What?! You're using a controller! :O"
-
Ha ha yeah I'm also guilty of that. To the point where I really dislike playing a game where you can only save at checkpoints if I play one at all. Quicksave button is my friend.

@MadMummy76
You were flipping me shit ion another thread for essentially telling the truth. Apparently you think to avoid "bragging" people would simply not participate in conversation. You said it was quite "unbecoming." Mystery solved.
@fenrif
Mostly CoD titles
@aileron
I've course, I've tried using them. I've always used mouse+keyboard until somewhat recently. It wasn't always PC games supported controllers. But with shooters, I'm worse with them.

Not really a quirk, but I am a compulsive saver - if I haven't saved in some fashion every 5-15 minutes, max, I get twitchy. I've played too many games where some glitch would get me killed or crash a game, and I'd lose hours of play - so I save before every fight, every conversation, every cutscene ... a game has to be very engaging to make me forget ... and usually, that's when something goes wrong.

I can't stand not having a full clip when I'm running around between fights - lack of simple preparation can get you killed!

You've gotta be careful about that! I play Rainbow Six Siege a lot, and in that game a split second can be the difference between life and death. Even if you're in a 1v1 situation, it's usually best to not change magazines because the other guy can hear you doing it and push around the corner, landing a bullet right in between your eyes. while you've got your hands in your pocket. It's especially deadly to people who are used to the insta-speed reloads in games like Call of Duty and instinctively put in a fresh mag immediately after a kill.

This is something I do compulsively in FPS games, I don't even think about it anymore, which sometimes leads to me getting caught reloading. That one round can make a difference sometimes even in a 60 round clip
Not too long ago, I got my girlfriend into FPS games and that's not a habit that she has at any level, so she'll turn a corner to shoot someone and have only a few rounds in the clip. I remember watching her play Ashe in Overwatch when that she was new and seeing her get stuck firing one round at a time since she wasn't reloading the clip when she wasn't firing.

Yeah the thing is with most PvP meta's that they are build around countering other meta's and completely ignoring whatever non meta players might be playing. I saw this a lot in Hearthstone too, people getting their decks ruined because all they did was counter meta decks. However, there's little possibility to counter every single deck, that's where strategies come into play.

I think this is pretty common actually but in RPGs and open world type games I need to look in every box, barrel, sack, room, etc, search every body, and generally gather a bunch of useless or semi useless stuff.

I often grind unnecessarily. In games where you have small amounts of ammo I usually end up with an inventory full of bullets. If I need 2000 resources I often continue to grind until I have 20000. I am a person that likes to grind...
I also tend to have podcasts, debates, lectures, etc running in the background as someone mentioned above. There's something about the feeling of doing 2 things at the same time that makes it more interesting.
