Rarely I play games on easy or normal, I don't find much enjoyment out of it. I just like the challenge on a harder difficulty. I like to get as much bang for my buck as possible when it comes to games. But that is just me.

isturbo1984 Honestly, I like both really. There is some games where the hardest difficulty I can't complete at all at the highest settings, I always try to see if I can progress through it though. Some times my ability at the game isn't that great so I have to give up on it, and some times lower it by 1 in order to finish it, but I do still get a good challenge. If I really like the game and every thing about it, I will usually grind through it and finish it.
Uncharted 2's highest difficulty I would classify as Easier game with a harder difficulty, I got the Platinum for that game, I am having a more difficult time with Uncharted 1's highest difficulty, it's a little bit above Uncharted 2's difficulty setting which surprised me a bit. I still need to complete it I haven't had the time unfortunately, but when I do I will definitely try.Last edited by SwordsmanAdraygus; 01-02-2019, 08:19 PM.

isturbo1984 I eventually need to get Dark Souls 1 and 3. I own the second game that was gifted to me a few Christmas's ago, I know some people out there don't really like the second game, but I do enjoy it more than others.
I hope they make another Demon's Souls, I played the crap out of that game and 100% it.

I have played one game EVER on anything past normal, and that was Mass Effect 2. Was it a challenge? Yes. What is worth it? No.
I've never ever had the disposition that a game on hard is the "real" game as some people I've met say. I have a life, I've always been a full-time author, writing for a living for over a decade. I've had jobs on top of jobs to pay for the inconsistent income writing offers. The very last thing that I would ever want in my is to play video games and get stressed out. So I don't play games past normal for the simple fact it offers me nothing in terms of further enjoyment.

I always feel so wasteful of a good game when playing on easy, because usually you don't have to learn any of the game mechanics and can just rush trough. But i'm a gameplay-gamer, I can do without any story at all even. So that would probably explain a lot of why some players play on easy and why some play on harder difficulties.
All (I think all, iirc) MGS games change drastically on what you can rely on to safely go trough the game with difficulty changes. A large part of succesful sneaking for most players has to do with carefully watching your sensor data (soliton radar being the easiest). But when you remove those artificial sensors on higher difficulties , the screen feels dauntingly empty without your trusty radarview. You have to rely on what's hinted to you in the environment and by memorizing enemy pathing etc.what other games can you think of totally changes the way it was meant to be played on easy?Currently playing 'Vermintide 2'
Currently reading 'The Blade Itself'

When I was playing The Witcher 3, I switched it down to easy for one of the main game bosses. It took away the possibility of even dying in that fight, so that was a huge change.
I think it might’ve been a glitch however, since I died against regular enemies and DLC bosses, even when playing on easy.Last edited by WickedWolf; 01-02-2019, 05:12 AM.Animals are better than people

Get gud filthy casual.
Only joking, play your games however you want.
Yeah Detlaf was quite difficult in Blood and Wine, one hitting me at level 100 on Death March. Olgierd was hard until you figured his weakness, parry his red charge. Also the fight where you fight multiple Olgierd's can be tough if you get all of em on you at the same time."it was the daedric prince of douchebaggery in disguise"

My father always berated me for playing a game on easy

I do not play games on easy.
I am not saying "people who play games on easy are bad." I do not do it because games are expensive - an easy game will end quickly and will rob me of accomplishment (I feel) I like games to challenge me and even somewhat frustrate me - like a mental work-out for that sweet dopamine hit at the end.
I am currently playing Kingmaker (great game btw) on Challenging with a custom party based off my friends (which means if cost me thousands of gold at the start and my team members are "weaker" then the premade characters) it also means a lot of standard DND rules apply (like dead characters staying dead) and some of the fights have held me up for sometimes hours because I got "trapped" in a dungeon (hint bring rations) but I really like the feeling of using resourcefulness to figure out a way to snatch out victory.
My opinion - playing a game on easy does not justify the cost of most games.

I am an Achievement Hunter. I will usually play a game on the highest difficulty in order to get all the difficulty related achievements in one go. However, if there is no difficulty achievement, I will play on the lowest difficulty setting to switch things up.
I've read that gamers play games with differing priorities, (competition, cooperation, achievement, exploration, etc), and looks like we're pretty diverse here.
