My "Personal" GOTY 2018

42 games played... and beaten this year. This was a somewhat "slow" year for me. But if you were all wondering what games I finished and in what order I rank them all, here you go. A couple of threads touched up on this already. I figured I'd make my own. Not all games are 2018 releases. In fact, most of them aren't. Hence my "personal" GOTY. A lot of games on this list. You aren't going to agree with the positioning on all of them. So don't take automatic offense, as it is not an intended slight against you. I fully endorse your last statement, lol. I've been playing AC almost annually, skipping only Unity. And those are exactly my thoughts and feelings as well. I'm actually playing AC Odyssey right now too. Sadly, it's not on my list this year because I haven't beaten it yet (game is so big!).

Glad you got around to P5 this year. Truly a masterpiece, I'd wager to say one of the best of the 8th generation of consoles.

I didn't care for the original games, mostly because of the poor controls. Starting with "Origins", however, the series began transforming into an rpg and now, with "Odyssey" it's a full fledged action rpg like Witcher 3. While it isn't quite as good as that title, it comes incredibly close, with excellent combat mechanics, fully half the side missions are interesting, exploration is rewarding, the landscape and historical recreations are beautiful, and the characters are often quite entertaining. Kassandra is the better voice actor but I find Alexios certainly good enough to enjoy (though I always play women as my main when given the opportunity). If you enjoy games of that sort, I'd absolutely recommend it.

I tried so hard to get into the originals but it was to slow paced for me and haven’t tried any since. Would you say the series may be worth the revisit for me with the newer releases?

Since I'm limited to PC, my game of the year was "Assassin's Creed Odyssey".

Can you expand on it, what did you like about it.. did something specific kept you glued to the screen?

let me put it to you like this. it is only the 2nd game in my entire life i have ever given a perfect 10/10. the other one was Chrono Trigger back in 1995. it is that good. at least it was to me.
