How common is it for you to play all the way through a game? Do you tend to finish the story, 100% it, or just play until you had your fill and forget about the game?

As I get older, I begin to do this more and more. Beating a game was not hard in high school, but after a 9-5 I don’t have time or the patience to grind through a game I’m not enjoying.Originally posted by aileron View PostI don't think I've ever finished a game. I don't find "beating" a game fun. I play them until I'm not enjoying them anymore and then move on to something else.

I try, please refer to my list of finished games in 2018

Of course I simply enjoyed all these games, I also played some games I didn't enjoy so I never beat them, like Mass Effect Andromeda. And then there are games I do enjoy but get kinda pushed aside by a new game i enjoy more, like .hack G.U. and Shining Resonance, I enjoyed them but put them aside for other games, normally I plan to go back eventually like I'm currently doing with .hack which I only just resumed to play after almost 1 year of pausing.
If I 100% a game depends how much I like it and what is required, I mean I love Dragon Quest XI for example, it's my GotY 2018, but the last 3 missing trophies for the platinum are just annoying, so I quit trophy hunting.Hail Kizuna Ai

If I enjoy a game a lot, such as Fallout NV and Skyrim, then I go for the 100% but otherwise, I just finish the story and sidequests before putting the game away. Personally, the stories and lore of the game is what keeps me going to the end.

I have a weird habit when it comes to many games. I will play right up until the last boss or mission, then take a break before completing it. I think this is because I don't want the game to end, and once I beat it, I'm done. I very rarely will 100% a game. Demon's Souls and Dark Souls I felt compelled to 100% for some reason, but most games I just play the main story and then put it away for a while. Lately, I have been replaying some games after picking them up for a Wii U I recently purchased. The gamepad integration added enough to some games that I had no problem replaying them. For example, I think the Wii U version of Deus Ex: Human Revolution is the best console version because the hacking and passcodes are all done on the gamepad. Considering you can pick up a Wii U for about $100, and most preowned Wii U games are really cheap made it worth it for me.

I just finish the story line and move on to the next thing.
Unless it's a moddable game (I always come back for more, quick examples: Skyrim, Fallout: NV ).
Sometimes I enjoy a game 2 much I end up getting all achievements and play it multiple times, but not always.( ´・ω・`)_且~ Would you care to join me for a cup of tea?

The amount of time I spend exploring the entirety of a game is directly proportional to the sense of wonder and intrigue I experience throughout the title. Unless a game is complete tripe; that is, unplayable or truly monotonous, I spend the requisite time and effort completing the main campaign or story line with few diversions or extended playthroughs. It is a rare offering that holds my attention long enough to warrant a replay or 100% completion. There are simply too many quality games to enjoy these days.

Nope, I hardly ever finish a game. I mostly play games that are either infinite in length or so long that I keep making new games, play for hundreds of hours and quit, only to go back again and play another hundred of hours. I generally don't care about the story in games, so that incentive is out of the window.Currently playing 'Vermintide 2'

For games that have endings at the end of long campaigns I must say my completion rate is probably around 60%. Sometimes that task just seems too daunting and I don't want to commit the time. I have DA Inquisition and Witcher 3 and think their both good but the thought of playing through them is not something I'm up to right now. So I like games that let me pick up and play for short burts or at least make me make some progress. This is kind of why destiny has been king of bothering me lately because I don't have as much time to play and a lot of their activities are time limited. So to say not only do they take a long time but some are only available certain days and some are only available for limited times. So I wish that would stop, I'd really like to complete my set of halloween armor but alas.

There are very few exceptions to that rule. It's basically GOTY category if I continue playing a game after I went trough the story once.
