Do you finish games?

I finish surprisingly few games. The ones that I do finish go in a special place in my game library while the others go in a box to be given to friends or donated to Goodwill. You'd be surprised by the titles I never finished. God of War 4 and RDR2 are in that box.

Since this gen, its probably around 50% of titles. Sadly half of games that came out and I was interested in them was not good enough for me to waste my time on them. Before this gen I completed like 99% of games I played.

I agree. Games also weren't as vast prior to this generation of gaming too, so that could be one reason it's harder, or at least less frequent, to finish a game.

If I am hooked on a game, I will at the very least finish the main story/quest. Otherwise, I play until I am bored or the game loses its charm. This isn't actually too bad of a thing as I can return to the game several months later and still discover new content. I have only 100% one game: Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.

Usually, I try to at least get to the end credits. I'll attempt to 100% the games that I thoroughly enjoy (if it doesn't seem to tedious).

Once in a while though, I'll quit a game because I'm not enjoying it at all.

It depends. I tend to try to complete 100% of every game, most of the time.

I do remember the one playthrough the original Mass Effect Trilogy where I went all renegade. I shot Legion in the chest 3 times, and then I hated that Shepard so much I didn’t complete all the missions and went immediately into ending the game.

When I start a game I more or less get a feel of how much I'll enjoy it and there I decide if I'll beat it or not.

If the game is boring I'll retire it.
If the game seems boring but looks like it has some redeemable features I'll put it on hold to give it another chance in the future.
If the game is ok, I'll try to beat it.
If a game that seemed ok turns boring halfway I'll force myself to beat it anyway and only stop if it becomes really difficult/not worth the hassle.
If the game's good I'll try to do as much as I can (side quests, optional bosses etc.)
If I really like the game I'll try to get 100% if it's not something too stupid or boring.

I normally finish games. It can take me months it even years but I'll eventually finish it. The last game I 100%d tho was Oblivion.

Normally I do but recently, I've been playing more endless games such as online shooters (Killing Floor 2 and Black Ops 4)

I try to finish games as best as I can. Unfortunately, with a job and family, it's a lot harder compared to when I was in school. Or better yet, when I was in uni when I finished almost every game I played.

I typically finish what I start, if not now, eventually due to the fact that I am a rabid achievement hunter. The sole exception is multiplayer achievements for the most part because playing with other human beings is not enjoyable to me.

Those I really enjoy, yes, I'll finish, so I finish about a little under half the games I play these days, complete another 10-12% and 'meh' the rest. It doesn't help that I tend to play several games concurrently. I'll drop some based on my level of interest in them, worse yet when I restart previously finished games, precisely because I found them fun and want to take a break from what I'm currently playing... -_-

Yes...? No...? There are games I buy and finish, all the Dark Souls games, Red Dead II, the single player 'World of Light' in Smash Ultimate.. but games like Monster Hunter there kind of is no end even after the final boss, the game is a farming mill. Or Skyrim I just did all the side quests I wanted and never saw how the game ends. I have that sort of habit with Bethesda titles, just beat Oblivion like 2 years ago now that i think about it. I will say this-- When I buy a game, I do buy it intending to finish it. Whether or not I get there depends on my experience.

I usually play very story driven games. And that really gives an incentive to finish them when I am legit caught up in the story.

So yeah, if I am caught up in the story. I have a kind of bad habit of playing none stop every day until the blasted thing is done.

Games I finished this year... Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Dragon Quest XI, Yakuza Kiwami 2, Yakuza song for life. I replayed Chrono Trigger and Dragon Quest VII.

But yeah, due to the very nature of the games I play and them being so story driven compels me to finish them. I will admit, I also played Doom 2016 this year, and all though I had a lot of fun with it, it is not finished at all. I just.... Pick it up when-ever I feel like shooting stuff.

For SP games, I try to finish them. Sometimes I take a break and revisit it a month or 2 later because I get bored/stuck, but I try to finish those games.

Then again, I also play MMOs and Survival games a lot these days, so there's just a lot of time where you can't really "beat" the game per se, just get to the point where you're so geared there's no (PvE) content you need until the next patch/expansion, or you have no more worry about not having enough food/water/ammo etc to survive so you just run around like a god until you get bored and wipe the map to start over.
