I think they are all great. Darksiders 1 takes all the best elements of legend of zelda and of god of war and does cool things with that. And darksiders 2 takes the best parts of diablo and prince of persia and makes a clol rpg. Darksiders 3 takes the best elements from dark souls and the previous darksiders games and is good too

One was an amazing Zelda clone. Two couldn't figure out what it wanted to be, but was still a good game. Three looked like a step back, but I'll find out exactly how I feel about ti when I hopefully play (and beat it) later in the year."You can take the politics out of the forums, but you can't take the snowflakes out of the internet "

I have a mental corner for titles like that I call "good, but uninteresting". And I always confuse the titles that I stashed away in there, because they seem so similar. Spoodermans is in there too with any other marvel game.
Just not my genre I think. But enjoy, to each their own.Currently playing 'Vermintide 2'
Currently reading 'The Blade Itself'

Solid $20-$30 buy, but don’t think I’d spend more on them. They’re pretty fun if you’re already a fan of the genre but they aren’t outstanding in their own. Additionally, I like the idea of them cause they’re sort of a Single A or B tier game that doesn’t get developed like they used to. I’d like to see the industry return to that, but it’s doubtful without another big crash happening I think

Never played 1, but 2 was a lot of fun. I bought 3 and I'm 75% through it, but I just ran out of steam and the will to finish it.
IMO both 2 and 3 show you everything they have by 1/2 way through, and then the rest seems kind of repetitive.
Not BAD games by any stretch, as they do have some great qualities and nice art-style. But like I said above, the end tends to feel like a slog.

First 2 are good but the 3rd one is phoned in and seems a bit tame for my tastes. (Regarding killing and fighting - I am a combat-focused gamer) Didn't like it.Whatever you love, I probably hate.

I have played the first 2 Darksiders games, and I plan on purchasing the 3rd. I enjoyed my time with both games, and I thought they were different enough from each other to not feel derivative. It doesn't bother me that they took inspiration from other game series. Just because a game comes out with certain gameplay elements, doesn't mean that those elements are now locked out from other developers. If that was the case, then GTA would be the only open world game, and other games with similar mechanics wouldn't exist. I like games. I tend to find positive elements even in games that get "mediocre" reviews. This is a great attitude to have because it means I get to enjoy more games! I'm really looking forward to Darksiders 3. I just have to get through my backlog of games!Last edited by SnarkyJay; 01-07-2019, 04:45 PM.

I haven't played the 3rd, but I am playing Darksiders 2. The story is kind of meh, and the gameplay of Darksiders 1 comes off as very dated but the combat and combos are fun. 2 is more or less an RPG but the platforming gets tedious and kind of annoying at parts, especially where it isn't immediately obvious what you need to do because the guidance raven you have is utterly useless.
The combat was fun, and outside of Death looking kind of stupid the graphics were fine. It's not a series I'm on the edge of my seat for.
