Get a switch now. They're easy as fuck to install CFW on and then it's a great little portable emulation machine with good controls and inbuilt splitscreen multiplayer.
Ahw you already bought it. Just before Jeremy released a video about plans to release a Pro and Light version this year. But you do get to play Smash, which is awesome. I'm gonna wait and see if the pro version is any good and then I might get it. The hardware it has now isn't worth my money but that's just personal opinion. You value things as you see fit.

Yeah I have heard about that but for the moment I am content. Its been quite fun so far playing and smash is a blast! I do agree with you that 300 is still pretty steep for the hardware, but not much can be done about that at the moment. I am fortunate enough though that if a pro version comes out and is a big step up I will be able to exchange and get that. With that news waiting to see what happens is not a bad idea!

I am expecting some margin, but I wonder, are there some comparisons regarding performance, functionality (joy cons support quite a lot of various things) and price to other existing products? I tried quick search in DDG and Google, but didn't find much.
I was just comparing it to the other consoles of this gen. And I didn't really like how people describe the cheap lightweight docking station of which one reviewer said you could easily tear it down while charging your controller or bump it over. Seems to me you get this console purely for the exclusive and excellent games available for it, but at the cost of comfort and durability. I really like good games, so I don't write the console off immediately but i'm also one for durability and bang for buck so yeah.
Time. We use the time we have and hopefully make the best gaming choices to play the best of what is out there. Whether you have a lot of time or a little time. Limiting yourself to a smaller pool of games, ultimately, will be the lesser option. Regardless of your preference, how good or bad fanboys make the Switch out to be, or how awesome you think your current platforms are. It's just that simple.

I definitely feel ya with that, I used to have a lot of time back in college and high school and what not but with work time is far more limited. I am more concerned now with being able to play fun games rather than the same old stuff that I pretty much play on compulsion or just because I always have. I will say it can feel overwhelming sometimes having all platforms but it is nice to be able to play basically anything I want which means I don't waste time playing something I don't. I just jumped off of CoD this year after years of playing it because I am just not having fun and its wasting my time where as I played Super Smash all last night and had a blast. Same with the games I play on my pc, only playing things I have fun with.
yeah, everyone manages their time different. but even for those who less timek it is all the more important to gameon all the platforms so they can play the best of what is available to them so their time isnt wasted. i often here time as an excuse not to own the other systems. a lot of fanboys who own just one platform do this a lot. as i find the more platforms i own, the more rewarding my time spent gaming is.
Between the Switch and my gaming PC I really haven't felt a reason to pickup another console. Everything worthwhile on the xbox one comes to PC anyway. I can wait on the PS4 stuff until that console is being sold second hand next generation.
