What are the most important features for the next generation of gaming consoles?

With talks of next generations of consoles already coming to the forefront, even though it is widely agreed that new consoles are still more than a year out, what are the most important features that you want to see. What would you need in order to justify purchasing a new console at launch, or are you going to wait or purchase immediately no matter what the developers do.

Thanks for the advice on how to spend my money? Point is I like KH and I like Persona. Those companies refuse to bring them to PC. I have no choice if I want to enjoy those series.

If someone wants to buy a car to have it sit in their driveway and they have the money... well they paid for it.

I don't really have a big liking for anything else exclusive right now. Will they be the only games I ever get on PS4? Probably not... but I'm not really excited about anything else on PS4 atm.

Since you're the one who took it upon himself to jump down my throat because you see to think I'm jumping around different threads and posts to say how trash gaming systems other than the PS are, why don't you go ahead and post it here? The closest thing you'll find is me posting how I think the Kinect was crap (it was) and that the Xbox Arcade was a gimped console (it was. And I said they should try it again) in this thread. Also I posted in a thread entitled "Are consoles a ripoff?" in which I made my case for consoles being worth buying, which was literally the point of the thread. I have 80 posts on this forum, so you won't have much to surf through, bud.

"childish misnaming" - If you're referring to Xbone, it's a common shorthand of Xbox One similar to how PS4 is for PlayStation 4. No need to spout tears over it.

Maybe if you show me where I defended the MS release of the Xbox One you might have a point, but if you can't show me that I have defended it then you can't possibly have a point. Yeah, no. I'm talking about the PlayStation because it's the only current gen console I have. Sorry I'm not leet enough to own a PS4, Xbone, Switch, and a gaming PC. My bad.

Edit: and I'm trashing the Kinect because it's worthless and added to the price of the system despite it having no functionality with most video games. There's a reason they stopped shipping it bundled with the Xbox and subsequently lowered their price, then actually discontinued the entire Kinect line. All hallmarks of a bad product.

Only mentioned video recording because it's a pre-existing feature on the current gen consoles and could be improved. Whether it'll increase the cost is something I doubt since the PS4 sold for less than the PS3 which didn't even have those features.

I would actually be willing to pay more for backwards compatibility. Up to the $500 mark for me personally. It's like the saying of "you get what you pay for." I'd be willing to pay for better features, but only if those features are actually worth the extra cost. Unlike the bogus Connect gimmick that comes with the Xbone.

I don't want anything that's going to increase the cost unless it's core to the experience. If you want to be the next Ninja then buy a capture device and edit your videos on a PC, I don't want to pay more for a console that has features I don't need. Same with backwards compatibility, I don't want to play last gen games on a current game console.

Things I want in the next gen consoles:

• Full backwards compatibility. All the way back to ps1/xbox
• Physical game discs
• Digital download with purchase of physical disc (movies do this)
• 4k UHD discs
• 100% Offline play permitted (don't want that fuck up like Xbox had last time)
• Ability to share digital games with friends (remember it was talked about before?)
• More games like Fallout 4 & Skyrim which allow us to finally use mods
• More USB ports on the front
• More memory
• Less expensive controllers
• Less expensive console
• Less Noisy fan
• Better entertainment applications interactivity (like ability to comment on YT videos)
• Better video recording ability
• Better video editing software
