    So... Alien Blackout....

If you haven't heard already, alien isolation is getting a sequel... Now hold on fanboys, this isn't your grandma's sequel, no, no, no, no.
This sequel... is a MOBILE EXCLUSIVE!
Where do i begin... First off, has anyone ever sat down for prolonged periods with a phone in their hands? Yeah, you get uncomfortable. It's a hassle to have to move every few seconds because you need to get comfortable to play your games while ALSO still being able to look at your phone screen, which is only comfortable if you put it on your lap. But then that means that you have to look down, which puts stress on your neck overtime, then your neck gets stiff and do i NEED to go on from there?
Secondly, the studio from the first game isn't making the second game. The game was originally made by Creative Assembly but now it's being made by D3 go, who is known for taking established IP's, making mobile games out of them, and then squeezing every penny out of them before moving on to the next thing. So pretty much like EA but with IP's instead of studios.
Thirdly, I don't quite understand what the game is trying too be. It's clear it's supposed to be a horror, strategy game, but you have a crew, and you're trying too escape. Which probably means that you have too command a crew while ALSO yourself trying to dodge the alien. That mechanic sounds frustrating too begin with, sense that means that most of the time, you have to be staring at the monitor in your hands too check on your teammates, while also trying too tell where the alien is, and at the same time, ALSO trying to get to the exit yourself. You also have too make decisions based on how much power you have left and who or if you should sacrifice someone for the sake that you come out alive, which begs the question:
Why should i care? What's too stop me from just sacrificing someone every round for the sake of it just so i can make it too the end? The website says there is consequences, but doesn't explain what those consequences ARE. Does everyone just get sad?
I honestly want too hear what everyone else has too say on this, because frankly, i don't think this is a good way too make a sequel, and OFFICIAL sequel i might add, to the alien franchise.

As a person with glasses and big hands. Playing games on a phone is very annoying for me than fun..
I only use my phone for making calls or even playing videos on youtube (most of the time are podcasts so I don't have to watch the tiny screen).
Watching the gaming market moving to mobile market makes me sad.

NO, I refuse to buy a tablet just to play games. I have a super PC for that or even my consoles.

Because it's 2019 and all our favorite ip's are going to mobile. Maybe 2019 is going to be a freaky Friday year and all those mobile games are coming to PC.
Cant wait to see how flappy bird looks on a 1080TI.

I'm mostly confused on why they decided to use the Isolation namesake to claim it is a sequel... nobody who play Isolation is gong to be on board with this. Just pick another damn name. How hard is that?

On the plus side, it’s saved me £50 because I’m not buying or playing it.

    Damn.... worst news of 2019.

Hopefully it's like Fallout Shelter and is just a lead-in to Alien Isolation 2

I want to go ahead a preference this by saying that in my original statement it does come around that i don't like mobile game, but like you said, i don't hate them, but it's clear that certain games do NOT belong on a mobile market. Alien is a serious series that needs time and effort to make it work, game like Alien: Isolation work because you spend a long time on this ship complete fear of what lies around the corner. The fact that this is the OFFICIAL sequel to the game is what makes me mad, because the mobile platform is not a fitting platform for a game like Alien: Isolation.
I'm mad more at the developers than at the Mobile market in general.

I was talking about this with my friend today and we both came to the same conclusion. Neither of us have problems with mobile games as I am sure is that same for many of you on here. However, taking an establish game series/franchise/etc like Alien: Isolation and turning the sequel/next game for that series into a mobile is just bad and nobody wants it. If they came out with a stand alone/new IP for an alien mobile game I don't think many people would have a negative reaction, maybe sad that no full on console alien game is coming but not too upset. But instead they take an established game series and go here is a mobile sequel. Do companies not realize that the audience for the Alien Isolation series is on PC and console not mobile. Same with Diablo deciding that a mobile game is more of what fans want given the massive drought and the fact that the PC is the primary audience of the game. I just don't get it really, makes me think all the shilling for "mobile is future" and "everyone is on mobile" because people play candy crush has finally shilled enough to the point where game publishers actually believe it and then are dumbfounded when a mobile game blows up in their face. I definitely agree with the sentiment of just being sad, I really enjoyed alien isolation, didn't know there would be a sequel but hearing their might be one was awesome, turns out I was wrong as it will clearly be a mobile cash in. The industry is in a sad state right now, its really a shame.

They must have a serious set of balls to see what happened with Diablo and then continue with this.

I'm bummed that the next Alien game is going to be mobile. I loved Alien Isolation. It was one of the scariest games I played all year. I do have a few mobile games on my phone, such as Epic Seven and Shadowverse. The thing about these games is they can be played in short bursts. I play one round of Shadowverse and call it a day. Horror games take time to ramp up the tension. Another problem I have is that I don't find mobile games scary. I can't get immersed in a game when I am playing on my phone. I am not sure why exactly, but it probably has to do with the fact I'm constantly tapping on the screen. When I game with a controller or with a keyboard and mouse, I forget that I'm holding those peripherals, and I feel like I'm in the game. So I don't think the horror elements are going to carry over with this new game. It's too bad really, because after the disaster of Colonial Marines, I was happy to see the Alien franchise treated right. I hope this sequel is awesome and all my fears are unfounded. I doubt it though.
