I am watching the Hollow Knight run, and it's a blast.

I was always disappointed by the shitty games they choose to speedrun, but on principle, I support the concept because I like some speerunning.

I only watch for mario maker, cause Carl, Poobear, potatochan, and other creators make it great.

There's not always my favorite games being ran, but I really like the concept and it's become some kind of tradition to watch it as much as possible when AGDQ is live. I find this week really endearing, hah.

My favorite blocks are usually Mega Man, Castlevania and horror themed ones.

I don't always agree with the management decisions made by the GDQ organizers, but I enjoy watching speedruns, and having a live audience to cheer and gasp during cool moments makes it fun to watch. I often find out about new streamers through the GDQ events, and as someone who has had multiple loved ones with cancer, I support their cause and normally make a donation of some sort.

Isn't GDQ dead after the event management basically harassed the speedrunners for years now? I don't watch it because its not spontaneous and fun anymore.

I had to look this one up because I've never heard of it either. It's a live streaming event called Awesome Games Done Quick.

From their web page:

Games Done Quick is a charity fundraising organization that raises money for charity via speedrunning. Volunteers play games at incredible speed ("Speedrunning") for entertainment. The event is streamed live online, non-stop, and all donations go directly to the charity.

Sounds kind of odd to me, but hey, whatever.....

I didn't know it existed until a year ago, their relentless inside jokes were kind of annoying.

However it is the first time I have ever seen past the first level of Bart vs. the Space Mutants ... seriously, you have to a masochist to learn to speed run that ...

From what I hear it's basically a SJW hole. So I don't have much interest. If I want speedruns I'll just look them up elsewhere.
