Worth checking out AC syndicate?

looking for a recommendation, after AC unity and well as interesting as it was in experimenting with a new engine/mechanics I kind of abandoned the franchise until origins came out... which I never really finished... but I’m looking back and am wondering is syndicate worth playing? Does it have a decent story?

I never finished syndicate. I played a good deal of it and liked it ok but got bored of it pretty fast. Friends of mine really liked it though. I will say that I played it right after completing Black Flag and I felt Black Flag was a cooler experience. Honestly, at this point I would just move on to Odyssey which I think is the best one since Black Flag.

Syndicate is good. Evie and Jacob have slightly different playstyles, but overall it's a predictable and enjoyable AC addition.

If you can get it fairly cheap, sure- it's closer to the classic AC formula (which I actually prefer) than Origins and Odyssey and the rope launcher makes getting around a bit more satisfying. Jacob's kind of a twat though. XD

Black flag is still one of my favourites, also prefer the old mechanics but, sure look it, once odyssey goes on sale I’ll take a peak at it.
