During the dry months, what do you do?

So, when the games aren't coming out, what do you do? What happens when the taps have run dry for the predictable future?

There's no such thing for me any more due to massive backlog and an extensive wishlist on steam. Since I don't care about AAA games, I'm into the indie & AA sphere where time doesn't really matter in the same way.

With the amount of indies being releases, there is always a good game coming out.

    WTF you talking about?

Anyway OP, when there's no good games coming out I play games from the mid-2000s that I remember being good... like I've been doing since bloody 2010 because there hasn't been an exceptional game to come out since roughly that time excluding a few indie titles. Shit at this point I might as well just become a retro gamer and call it a day.

Either buy games I haven't had a chance to pick up yet or just replay any number of the 100s of awesome games I have(also I keep my out of print systems/games as well, so there's plenty of stuff to fall back on). I'm a big RPG fan too, so this works out exceedingly well

I check out mobile games that I play for free or I go back to my rogue-likes/rogue-lite games like Borderlands 2 and Darkest Dungeon for replays. There are also online games that I play that are grinders such as Warframe and Mechwarrior Online. Maxing out a new mech in MWO or finishing forma on another weapon on my backlog in Warframe is always a decent way to pass the time.

Lately though I'm more inclined to round off my skills and I've been learning CSS/HTML/Wordpress and move on to some programming again.

Don't know what you are talking about. New games are getting released every month, all year around.

I play retro games and MMOs during the summer when there isn't much else.

I watch Twitch. In fact I rarely even play games anymore these days. Watching Twitch to me is like hanging out with a bunch of friends, chatting while a video game happens in the background.
I have gotten to that point in my life where after a long day of work, I just want to relax and decompress until I go to bed. I only ever get excited enough to play when a new MMO or expansion comes out.

If that's your thing, you might want to check out Dead or Alive Xtreme 3.

I go back to the good old stuff like retro PC games, pinball games, emulator games (Amiga/C64/Arcade); pretty much anything fairly casual that I can just fire up and have some giggles. Also when I don't have many games to play I watch movies - lots and lots of movies!

I typically play games that I can put a lot of time into. But that doesn't stop the dry spells. I only got into Destiny because Borderlands TPS while fun, didn't have enough to offer. And now, Destiny 2 finally got a little stake, so I'm putting some time into Smite again. When that gets boring, the new season should be starting in D2, and hopefully we have some sort of news about BL3.

So I guess I just rotate through time sinks, more or less.
