Cheaters era is going to the end!!!
Hello ! In this topic, I want to talk about cheaters and about the fact that at the moment in matchmaking there is a complete mess all around some cheaters. Who supports that the time has come to clean the ranks of dishonest players. -
Cheating is never going to end. Anyone with the technical skill, spare time, and some motivation can hack a game.
If we're just talking MMOs and other multiplayer games, that comes partially down to bad practices on the part of devs and enabled by publishers (gotta push stuff out fast right?).
Besides that, even the countermeasures are commonly hacked.

Cheaters will never end because they exploit bugs, and each day games get released with more and more bugs.
Fallout 76 is a bugfest, and it has created an economy in which cheaters exploit bugs to create lots of items, sold at discount in ebay, and making a lot of money. If there is an economic incentive, and lots of holes, they will be exploited.

I have a question for you, would it be better if there was a separate matchmaking for cheaters?

Getting cheating players out of multiplayer games is a game of whack a mole at best. You can be really good at it and constantly get better, but their always going to find a new way to pop into the game. I think funnier solutions are what we need, like instead of banning cheaters put them in a separate matchmaking queue with only each other that they can never get out of.

I’ll introduce that the new anti-cheat is only a temporary phenomenon - since access to the game remained with these people is still open and free, which means creating cheats is still easy for them, which I said all this. What is the time to deny gamers access to game files. I have ideas for this ...

I'm not sure I understand everything you said there but I have a vague idea and it seems like a good one. Although I stand by the fact that no matter the technology used or the OS configuration, there would still be a way at some point to create hacks. Maybe some new method and technology would come out. I think the most efficient way to make sure there is no hacker would be to have the game completely streamed to your computer so every single thing can be monitored by the devs. PathOfExile is an always-online game exactly for that. But yeah I guess your idea would be a good one to slow down game hacking for a while, until somebody find a way to breach it. And trust me it will happen. Even if only for the fame, That's a bit how enthusiast hacking came to be, only for fame.

PaXXXman Suppose the OS is on a separate encrypted LWM partition, it will not change for the gamer. Just a computer will be to run
CSGO go into reboot and that's it. When you close the game, the computer will go into reboot again and load your Windows back.
Linux in this case is only the basis for the container (there are more developments in the game side due to Valve and the Cryengine engine more,
which means less work) - as on servers only the core + Apache / PHP and the site. And outside the container, nothing will change. Cause
Cheats precisely in the fact that they have too many opportunities to pick open and crawl to our game.
If you take away all these opportunities, it will be like on servers (where the system just doesn’t have such capabilities at all) even if the game is in the cheats again, then anarchy more than a couple of hours will not last — for banning old containers and re-releasing new ones with new LWM encryption algorithms and passwords is pretty simple. And even that will happen with a probability of 0.000000001%.
Rather, the bank server will be chosen as the target.Last edited by Alex; 01-10-2019, 06:42 PM.

From a modern computer point of view, unfortunately we can only mitigate hackers and slow them down. It's pretty much directly related to computer security in general. The first thing you learn when you study in computer security is that nothing can't be cracked or hacked. It's physically impossible to create a system that is 100% secure . It's only a matter of time and technology. Take a simple brute force attack on an account protected by a password for example. No matter how complicated your password is, The attacking computer will end up by finding it. If it's a super complicated password with something like 30 random character (including capital letters, numbers and special character) it might take 10 000 years, but it will find it. The more processing power would reduce that number. That is a really basic example and there are way to protect better from that kind of attack than only a complicated password, but it demonstrate that it's only a question of processing power and time.
Also keep in mind that in this modern era, there is a whole lot of crazy technology concepts like Quantum computing, ADN computing, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning technology, security measures will have to be in place to counter hackers who will have access to crazy technology in the future. This applies to everything related to computer technology, so even video games
With that said, it does not prevent games to create or use some good anti-cheat system and there will always be new one that will try to stay ahead of hackers, but they will always be there to ruin our games. It's more a matter of frequency.Last edited by PaXXXman; 01-10-2019, 04:37 PM.

The only way cheating will end is if you can ID ban a person who cheated, and every account to a game or service has to be unique per person, but I'm afraid this is too harsh of a punishment.

Cheaters gonna cheat and that will never end. I've been gaming for to many years and seen it in some form or another on every platform. As long as there are rules and systems, there will be those who break them. Regardless of what motivates them to do it.
