ever play a game that has such a great backstory or world surrounding it and wanted a spin-off to be able to see that world better?
Seeing the story mode for Mortal Kombat X made me wanting an Action RPG set in the Mortal Kombat universe there is so much potential there.
i know some MK games dabbled in it but I’m talking a fully fleshed out game like Dragon Age set in the MK universe

I really enjoy the Tomb Raider series so anything new for that i would welcome - I am probably in the rare camp of enjoying Tomb Raider more than Uncharted

An RPG set in the world of Warcraft. The MMO doesn't go nearly deep enough considering all the plot lines and characters it has.

Back when Bioware had some integrity I would have liked to see a "Mass Effect" spinoff - maybe set during the events of game 1&2 but from the perspective of pirates around the Terminus Systems. It'd have nothing to do with Shepard or the Reapers and be all about something else - maybe they could involve Cerberus.
Similarly, I would have liked to see another "Jade Empire" game and since the first one wrapped up perfectly, the second would have to be a spinoff set in the same world with all different characters. Again, though, Bioware has lost all my goodwill so I no longer want them touching the IPs I fell in love with.
A spinoff Witcher series focusing on Ciri or Lambert would be very cool. I love Geralt but his story seems like it ended in a good place and if we see him again, it should be in the distant future.
Another "Bioshock" game would be swell, and a damn near instant buy from me. Again, though, "Infinite" finished up its storyline and I feel like we're done with ties to Rapture, so it's time to do something recognizably Bioshock, but unique to its own story.
Oh, and I'd love to see a Tomb Raider spinoff where they take that fantastic "childhood flashback" scene from the last game and spin it into an entire title of its own. Something like Hardy Boys, with a young Lara solving mysteries around her boarding school, while on vacations with the family, etc.

Yep. I'm a sucker for codex entries and whatnot. Spent more time than I like to admit reading through text in Mass Effect and Dragon Age. My biggest gripe is that some games have reeaaaalllyy small font sizes and use white letters. Hard to see.

Gears of War is a great universe 4 had such great locations that I just wanted to know more about but there wasn’t really anything to find in that game that expanded on these beautiful locations would of been nice to find documents or something

You know what would be great? If you take Gears of War or Halo and do a spin-off but put it in the horror genre. I was just thinking about the missions in each game where one level is a quasi-horror level... man that would make up for the Alien Isolation mobile sequel disappointment.
Just take the level in GoW 1 where you're going through that town at night while trying to avoid those evil bats or whatever, or Halo when you first encounter the Flood, and make an entire game out of those moments.

Deus Ex. Honestly I'm still bitter about them freezing the series so I just want anything decent in the universe to be released lol. But seriously, the Deus Ex world has a lot of potential in regards to spinoffs depending on the era you select. Terrorists, purists, government agents, double agents, something maybe akin to Shadowrun with corporate espionage?

I think these types of games have caused attention spans to drop, and I am certainly guilty of it at times. But being as I don’t play a lot of multiplayer games I tend to sink myself into titles that are story heavy and or are sandbox type games, Civilization, Total War, Tropico etc... So there are just too many games that peak my interest to which YouTube becomes a problem because I’ll watch a game on there then never buy or play it.

well, its a three year old, freakin title, lol. or in video game years, about 150 years old. i cant image anyone still playing games like this past 6months. just so many new games out. meanwhile people complain there "isnt anything interesting being released."

I'm not the biggest fan of Overwatch nowadays, and I've heard in recent times they've focused on a bit of the backstory, but when the game first released I remember falling in love with the lore. I expected a Team Fortress 2 cast, but then they slowly began releasing history and personality for each of the characters.
I played the Uprising game mode when it came out and enjoyed it more than the actual multiplayer. I appreciate the fact that they released it, and others like it, for free, but I would be willing to pay for a strictly co-op Left 4 Dead style of Overwatch. Something that followed different factions and time periods within the story and fleshed it out a bit more than the occasional comic or cinematic can. With the right incentives, like cosmetics and challenges, it could have a lot of replay value.
I don't know. I don't expect to ever see anything to that extent, but it's one of my favorite universes.

LA Noire is a good game, but it's further away from GTA than Mafia ever was.

I guess the closest thing would be LA Noire but yeah i would like that also

I always wanted an ME3 spinoff where you play as Miranda.
And a GTA spinoff where you play as a good guy (or girl) for a change instead of a criminal.
