It's because Corporations treat all customers like they're idiots. The shareholders and CEOs rarely actually understand gaming at all. Because they're often people who had previously been involved with other product markets. Their biggest problem is that someone who used to be involved at say... Pepsi doesn't understand that even a stupid customer is going to put more thought into their purchase when it's a $60 video game instead of a $2 bottle of soda.

What a lot of corporate entities fail to understand is that the diehard gamers are the ones who put in the time and effort and are extremely creative and innovative. An example is an MMO community, which as a further example I'll use Star Trek Online. Some corporate people see the player base as whales, and don't even care about the opinions of these people. Yet, other developers (often not corporate) see the player base as really intelligent people (the ones who create incredible homages in and out of the game to the game itself, including some of the greatest foundry content you'd ever imagine), and when they see them in this light, the interaction is awesome. When they see them as profit centers, the games usually fall apart and die.

I hate paying after I've already bought a game. That's enraging.
But I can understand developers' wish to make money. Make more money they actually can make, though. Games are made to get money for that. Only some programmers work for the idea, but not companies. The only thing I can't understand is their strategy - maybe it's better to make people pay first time a bit more, but not make them do that stuff during the gaming process. Ugh.

The average gamer things gamergate was cringe.
The average gamer thinks that pre-order of digital products are okay.
The average gamer thinks that season passes is fine (season pre-order/pre-perchage of DLC's)
The average gamer thinks that games released buggy/not working at launch is not only fine, it's normal.
The average gamer thinks that micro transactions are fine.
The average gamer thinks that loot boxes is fine (skinner boxes gambling)
The average gamer thinks that video games journalists are trustworthy...
so if you ask me the average gamer isn't exactly that bright...

Yea exactly sigh. If this weren't the case, the like of EA, Activision, and WB(Take 2 wouldn't be doing too hot either) would have been out of business ages ago.Originally posted by Magvel View PostOn one hand big corporations executives are out of touch with normal people.
On the other a lot of gamers are actual idiots.

And to varying degrees that was true, at least as soon as a lot of those YouTube content creatorsâ„¢ and big personalities from other social media websites who wanted to make a quick buck out of the controversy joined the fray. And you could tell that they were a bunch of plebs too by the language they used, like "signal boost"and all these other Tumblr-tier phrases that had no place among GamerGaters.Originally posted by Temuldjin View PostThe average gamer things gamergate was cringe.
Alongside their kind, GamerGate was also hijacked by moderates who were more concerned with PR and tried to appeal to both sides of the argument. GamerGate was doing great as long as it was on the offensive and had a clear message - to get these soyfaced crooked SJWs out of gaming journalism and everything else gaming-related. Not "ethics", not "dialogue", but a total dismantling of a culturally hostile entity. Little did the participants involved suspect that they too would be infiltrated by a bunch of soyfaced crooks who would go on to ruin the movement. It's sad, really.

Because most gamers are idiots.Forum about Collector Editions, Limited Editions, Game Collectibles, Statues, OST's
In the beginning, the universe was created. This has made a lot of people very unhappy and has widely been seen as a bad move.

If you need any more prove that "gamers" are indeed idiots, look no further than this:
