Yeah man the gore is ramped up for sure. That scene where that one cop gets his lower half eaten... yikes!

I just finished the demo. Game seems to be what modern RE games should be, or what RE4 should have been in the first place but never was. The demo format was made wrong though. You don't have a time limit and an ending in a demo at the same time. I lost ten minutes of the thirty because I made it to "the end" and then had to replay from the start to explore further, wasting all of my remaining time to make it to where I was.

Back in 1996 I had a blast with the 90-minute demo of Grand Theft Auto and I never felt like it was an unreasonable limit. Though that let you start over again and again.

Yeah I think demo might've been on easy hence so much ammo to play around. Still a great experience judging based on the demo. Had my friend pre-ordering steelbook edition in UK because I can't find it in Poland (sold out)

I also noticed the abundance of ammo, and I think this was a thing for the demo. They probably didn't want to turn off new players to survival horror games. I ran away from quite a few of the zombies out of habit, and ended the demo with a surplus of ammo. I still had a great time with the game and plan to buy it day one.

My bf said the same thing in regards to MGS.

I didn't see any materials about the remake as I didn't want to see spoilers (differences between remake and the original). Played through the demo 3 times so far on PS4 and it convinced me to get this day 1.
If someone wants to replay it on console you can just login with another account and you get back your 30 minutes.
The difficulty level was low and I wonder if this was 'easy' or 'normal'. I also wonder if amount of ammo was augmented for the demo to make it easier.
I thought that lack of true headshots would annoy me but I actually had a lot of fun shooting. Gore is just amazing and seeing damage done to zombies is really satisfying.
Amount of changes done in comparison to the original is outstanding - from that limited demo it sure looks like we have a new standard for remakes. Now if only MGS got that sort of treatment

I loved the demo! I wish it didn't have the timer, but to be honest, having the timer makes me want to buy it day one. I have played the original RE2 multiple times, and the remake felt like a completely new game. It was scary and got my pulse racing a bunch of times! I normally don't buy games on release day, but I'll probably make an exception for this one! The one thing I will note is that my PS4 fan was blowing like a helicopter the whole time I was playing, so it makes me think it's intensive on the graphics end. I'm thankful I was able to beat the demo before the timer ran out, or I would have been pretty frustrated!

Welp, they already failed in that aspect, now it's just dead weight.

Possibly to stop the demo being cracked, who knows?

Why the heck is there DRM for a demo, anyways?

I was going to download this one but then I saw "Incorporates 3rd-party DRM: Denuvo Anti-tamper". No thanks....

Downloading it right now! I can't wait to play it. Also there is apparently news going around that there is a way to extend the timer on PC, not going to provide any links though because it seems like a grey area, plus I'm not sure if it comes with any viruses. In the end, it doesn't seem to affect much, because the game seems to end after a period of time regardless of the timer. I myself will probably find 30 minutes more than enough time to get through the demo though.

Made it to the end of the demo, for me this is shaping up as a potential GOTY. The devs have absolutely nailed the mix between nostalgia and new content, roll on January 25th.

I'm surprised how they made the game feel like both RE1 and RE4. I kinda have a feeling that after the RPD portion of the game, it will turn into full blown RE4 mode. What I played was very good though. Played it with the lights off and headphones on. Had a couple of jump scares. The zombies were very scary. The game is gorier than I expected. But I did not "finish" the demo. My time expired just after the stairwell.

when you say "finished it" do you mean the time expired or you actually got to the end of the demo?
Working...
