Documentary- Installation 01: A Halo fan game for PC

A pretty good history to date of the fan project "Installation 01". Among any and all fan projects I've ever seen, this one appears to be the first to potentially actually make something great. I'm really hopeful that even if the next Halo game released on Xbox 1 and The Windows store is bad, that this game will fill me with hope and joy again, to feel again what we did back in 2007 with Halo 3.

Even more exciting perhaps, is that the dedicated team behind this project could move on after this to create their own game, and actually be able to make money from it, though I suspect they will be offered jobs at bigger studios, I only hope they might try to make their own way.

Wow! Amazing that they've been so supportive. (R vs B, heh heh, yeah that was good stuff. Before the era of monetized and demonetized videos, and asking for donations).

Yes they spoke about it. For many years now there has been a clause about using Halo IP for fan purposes. This was mainly in response the Machinima craze of the time in the 2000's. The only people exempt from this clause specifically AFAIK was Red vs. Blue. It set up that so long as fans didn't make any money or accept any donations, that they are in the clear. So they've been doing this %100 without pay.

At one point 343i(who now develop the Halo games instead of Bungie) dropped in for one of their conference calls with a lawyer and said that they were %100 okay. They even presented their video trailer for the project at an official Microsoft event.
