Hey all,
I'm new to the site, and am looking forward to chatting about games! Has anyone tried to register for the beta of Skull and Bones (Assuming interest)?
Thanks,

You are right, I used edge and it worked right away! Thank you for the tip!

It worked just fine for me, got a message that said "you will be informed if you're chosen for the beta". If it isn't working for you, maybe try a different browser, sometimes that makes a difference. Internet Explorer is quick, easy, and usually works when Chrome doesn't.

How did you sign up? I tried and never got the login to work!

I feel like one of the main reasons a great pirate game hasn't existed is because ~90% of a pirate's life is spent on the sea. Not a great way to translate that into a game and keep it interesting if there is any intention of making the game historically accurate in any sense. In my opinion, that leaves you with 3 viable options. Ignore historical accuracy, which in most cases also means making the game look cartoonish or overly animated. De-emphasize the amount of travel between regions or overly populate the seas, which degrades historical accuracy. Completely remove travel i.e. introducing fast travel options or do travel montages.Originally posted by Lehran View PostA good pirate game is just something that hasn't ever really existed and I just don't understand why. The closest we have is probably Assassins Creed Black flag which is great when it isn't reminding you that it's also an Assassin's creed game. This being an online game rather then a single player story makes me think that there isn't really going to be anything here for people who want a pirate game with a good story rather then a ship combat game.
I would love a game with strong graphics where you start off as a young man sold into slavery onto a pirate ship where you have to work riggings and lines, carrying out basic pirate duties aboard a ship out at sea, and you eventually work your way up through the ranks to commanding your own ship. It would be great to carry out bounties, hunt treasure, get into ship battles, seize bigger and better ships and everything.
Imagine they get the mechanics down so well that when you become Captain of the ship, if you die either through mutiny or from battle, your crew elected a new captain and you could essentially run into that ship as a new pirate and have the chance to fight it and take everything you had back.

This was the first I had heard of it but it could be interesting. I've registered for the beta, while I'm not a big pvp gamer, the stuff on the website convinced me that it might be worth checking out. I hope there's more to it than just killing other ships and selling your profits. I don't expect a lot of depth, but taverns where players can fraternize, npcs to talk with and add flavor or missions to the game, etc. The more the better, of course, but I'll keep my hopes very low so I'll be hard to disappoint.

Black Flag is the only Assassin's Creed that I liked, Skull and Bones could be a great game, if this one has a good offline campaign, but they transform it into an online game with loot boxes and "time savers" microtransactions, I will ignore it. I will appreciate any news you have.

Here you go, it doubled down on the naval combat from Black Flag, if you've ever played it.
