  • Cyberpunk 2077 Development began years after the announcement

Honestly I don't know why people are blowing this up to be big news. I'm not surprised that they had plans for their next big project before completely finishing with the one they were working on.

I guess my thinking here is that they probably had a small team basically acting as a think tank to kind of gear up for the next big project and they wanted to sort of outline everything that would be needed.

I watched a video YongYea made about a year ago, there appear to have been some delays and some setbacks but everything looked like it was well in hand and I saw no reason to worry.

Wow, talk about a clickbait video title. I think some definitions need clarification here. "Started work in earnest" meaning what? Based on the speakers job title and the game type, it's perfectly reasonable that the person who spoke wasn't involved. Hell, the amount of prep time before you get to coding in any notable manner on a game tends to be significant and more so a single player RPG than others. I for one am not worried about it.

Edit: And the fact there was a team working on it (dedicated) since 2012 is mentioned later in the video. That's what makes this clickbait.
