Resident Evil 2 - General discussion

    Hey guys,

I have not been around very long on the forums but I look forward to talking to everyone in a open forum about games and everything related. I wanted to start a general Resident Evil 2 topic and everything about.

I played all of the other games included the originals when they came out. I love the series, i even read the books, so to say the least i'm a fan. I LOVE the new game! I played the demo "one shot" and completely it faster then i thought. I enjoyed the nostalgia of demo concept and really thought it was a good choose to get some great marketing. The only gripe i had was the 30 min time limit but i know why they did but didn't really mind it too much.

For the demo for it's self. I really thought the ascetic changes were all appropriate and the new control system was amazingly tight. I was even shocked that the game actually got a jump scare out of me. One major change was the sound engining. Beyond amazing!!! All the little sound effects in the background just set the tone and re-caption the original horror tones.

I love to discuss with everyone to see what others think about the game and other residents evil fans.

I played through the original PS1 title a few years ago and it is my favorite Resident Evil game. I have to say I really like the old school visuals of the PS1. It may sound odd, but it makes the game scarier for me.

Played the game a few months back.
Plays nice but lacks atmosphere, felt like an action game but not a horror action game.

i actually just tried to do a speed run on it with 4:30 left on the clock. I got most of the way when my controller died at :10 left on the clock! My wife laughed at me, saying "I don't think your going to make it." lol I'm psyched for the release..

One thing I noticed while playing the demo was, the zombies doesn't just outright die off with a single clean headshot. You have to get in a critical hit it seems to be able to pull off OHKOs with Headshots.

I like the overall atmosphere the game gives though.

A bit disappointed that we can't fight the Licker we saw crawling outside the 3rd floor window, wouldn't been nice if it was prominently shown after that scene, like it might chase you as you head back to the main hall of the Racoon City Police Station.

I seen a few textures glitching out too. Mainly in the left side of the main hallway and that was the PS4 pro version. I can just hope they fix it because i love the way RE engine was applied to the new game. I just really excited to see RE2 this way and i hope to see RE1 or RE3 get the same treatment. I know sadly that RE1 is out of the question given how many times that was remade but still hope for RE3.

Demo was pretty good. Unimpressed with the visuals though. the RE engine and the textures are really well done, but it is clear that demo had a lot of problems. Maybe it is the fact I played it on a Xbox One X and it had no Enhanced patch. But should be a full full playthrough. I would get it day one, but since its a "spooky" game, I'll wait until October and get it maybe on discount.

I still remember all the little easter eggs and such. Like, searching the desk 50 times for the extra film or the zombie outside the station with the Special Key. Hope they keep those. Maybe even throw in some new ones.

I can understand that. I didn't know about the demo until someone told me about it. I enjoyed re2 back in the day so much that once i heard i couldn't stop myself.

I don't want to play the demo because I want to experience everything with the official game.
