  • I never pre-order games but...

I just pre-ordered Resident Evil 2 Remake. I played the 30 minute demo, and I loved what I saw. I rarely get hyped about games, but Capcom has been on point with the Resident Evil franchise the past few years, and I'm comfortable taking a gamble in this case. I'm usually against all forms of pre-order, but it felt different this time. I think it has something to do with the timed nature of the 1 shot demo. By only giving me a taste of whats to come, Capcom managed to hook me in a way other game companies have failed to. I know I can make another PSN account and play for another 30 minutes, but I'm so excited to play the full game, I don't want to get burned out on the police station intro. I managed to reach the end of the demo with 2 minutes to spare, and if I had gotten cut off, I might have given it another attempt, but thankfully, that's not the case. Anyone else pre-order RE2?

I'm not gonna pre-order it since I got burned by Destiny 2 (woulda thunk they woulda learned from the D1 Y1 debacle) but this is the first time I've gotten hyped for a horror game and I'm horrible with them- like, I don't even get past the 20 minute mark in any horror games I play- but I'm almost definitely gonna play this when it comes out if I've got the funds in my warchest.

Only game I pre-ordered was Batman: Arkham City. Even went to the midnight launch. Brought my accordion to play videogame songs. No, really. I also pre-ordered an Amiibo once, that being Wario. He's still in the box, smiling at me and telling me to hurry up.

You kinda need a sixth sense when it comes to pre-orders. I call it the bullshit-meter. I pre-order alot of games. I seldom get the feeling of getting burned.

bonus in game exclusive content is the only thing that gets me to preorder games.

In this day, with digital media, I don't find a reason the pre-order a game. Before, you would have to worry about the Physical Copies getting sold out, however now you can afford to wait a day or two and check to reviews on the game before you buy it.

I stopped pre-ordering games after Payday2 (I bought the career criminal edition).

[ Sure the game is fine now, but during the early days the game promised to launch with big banks and other things, only to launch with a small bank and later down the line they release the big bank as a dlc. That got me sooo pissed, I stop pre-ordering for ever. ]

I'm generally against pre-ordering. But I do it from time to time to support developers I love and from publishers I trust. Capcom... is not one of them, lol. In fact, i would say it is a dumbass idea to pre-order a game based on a vertical slice, lol. It is entirely possible the demo might be better than the entirety of the game. Coming to you from the publisher who likes to sell the "real ending" in DLC. Also... have fun paying to play the final boss in DMC5. Suckers.

I can live with not playing a video game on release day. For example, I waited for Ace Combat 7 to having been out for a while before ordering.

What pre order bonuses are there?

Ive been interested in the game after seeing it at the Tokyo games show last year, but I doubt I'll Pre order. I haven't even played the demo yet, I think I'll do that tomorrow.

I just see zero point in pre ordering. You can always still just buy the game on release without encouraging the publisher to screw you over on the next game. Just my two cents though, you do you.

I preorder pokemon games. Some generations have been weaker than others, but they are always fun and have the formula down. Almost everything else I don't preorder. Lets just say this, Halo 5 was so bad, that I bought the highest level edition of the game with the big statue for $50 shipped to my front door a year after release brand new from a retailer. I don't even have an Xbox1, I just wanted the statue. Just think of the suckers who preordered it for several hundred dollars.

What? I just said I wanted the statue, did you even read?

Also I can know a game isn't right for me by watching reviews, which I did, because I didn't pre-order.

I tend to only pre-order JRPGs because they usually never fail me. I almost pre-ordered Naruto: Shinobi Strikers but then I kept seeing no mention of any single player content and noped away from that.

I pre-ordered the Wii Fit Trainer Amiibo as a joke when they were first releasing the things. Having no idea that she would be literally impossible for anyone who didn't pre-order to find.

I hardly ever pre-order any more either but...there is one franchise I always do Mortal Kombat. It my favorite franchise and have been playing it since I was 5 or 6 on the Genesis or SNES I can't remeber. I really want that collectors edition but I don't think I'm willing to shell out that much cash.

I pre-ordered Overwatch (Big mistake) And I'm going to Pre-order Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid when I can. Hope that one doesn't bite my buttocks, too. But that's the gamble of any pre-order, isn't it?
