Not sure about the worst I've played, but the worst experience was Aliens: Colonial Marines, the game that taught me not to preorder. The killer was the awesome 'live demo' Gearbox showed off months before release that looked amazing and hooked this avid Alien fanboy in. I'll never give Gearbox money again.

Can't even remember what the game was called. Was for the SNES. You played these four knights and would roam around then once combat started it was all automatic. Turned it off right after that first battle. First and last time I was ever truly disappointed in something I've bought.

Mega Man X7. The controls suck, the story is weak for an X game, the bosses are annoying, and it's not fun to play. The game is broken.

The absolute worst ones I remember now are Legends of Troy, Planet Crushers (3DS) and Max Payne 3. And yeah, I'm being totally serious with that one. The name matters, and making a boring and generic Rockstar Game and putting the name Max Payne over it doesn't work for me.

The worst was one called "Instinct". My gf at that time had no idea of videogames and just picked one random from the store.
it was buggy and crashed all the time, but I couldn't say to her that it was rubbish, so I told her it was fine
Believe me, that "game" is unplayable

Evolve. That game was horrible in everyway for me. The bright side though it single handedly confirmed that gaming reviews (Evolve IGN 9/10) for games are not to be trusted. I've made my own opinions on games ever since and have several friends who are gamers that I value the opinions of.

Recently (in the last week) tried 2 Free to Play games from Big Fish.
But they were so full of adverts (and probably Micro Tranactions) I binned them straight away.

I had ET on the Atari 2600 back in the day --- enough said.

The authors wanted to make Samus human, vulnerable and not just some badass ballz of steel Ripley clone. But given how it was rated Teen.....yup, painted itself into a corner, it wasn't really that bad. Maybe it there was a dual JP dub, it could have neutralized the sappy American dub.

On the gameplay, blame it on the forced use of the Wii mote by Nintendo. They didn't know whether to be 1st person or 3rd person. That part I agree with you. But kudos, it makes for an extremely niche collectible.

I'm pretty accustomed to Japanese entertainment at this point, so it wasn't a cultural divide. It was a terrible game for very practical reasons.

    - Button mash to win every scenario. Seriously, horrible gameplay all around.
    - The most failed attempt at a story I've ever seen. It wasn't a cultural divide thing considering countless Japanese made stories in video games that have become legendary at this point... it was just a bad story, nothing more.
    - It threw out everything that made Metroid great and added nothing of worth.
    - The entire game is you walking around in a big fucking circle. Literally a big fucking circle.
    - Samus' characterisation was based purely on Yoshio Sakamoto's idea of Samus as his waifu with daddy issues.

It's basically Metroid's The Last Jedi. The last good Metroid game that was released was AM2R: Return of Samus.

Hard for me to say... hard for anyone to say, really. As a truly shit game does not get thoroughly finished. So we never actually know. But the crown for worst game I actually played tot he end has to go to Lost: Via Domus on the 360.
