Actually it's more like "let's wait and see if the game is good" vs "I KNOW this game will be Fallout 76 2.0."

LOL. The game isn't even out yet but it's a POS. And please show me that $200 version of the game...Originally posted by Zoltor View Post
Ok, but that's still bad. At this point, no one should even be defending cosmetic only microtransactions. Microtransactions have no place in a game that costs anything, let alone the 60-200 this POS costs. Furthermore, there would be no reason to tamper with the progression, if that stuff was realistically earnable in game.

It's not a fact of not announcing. It's a fact of explicitly saying no paid DLC and cosmetic only microtransactions. You claim they will flip-flop on that. Can you give an example where they have don't that before? (for the third time)Originally posted by Zoltor View Post
"announced" no, but considering the soon to be trainwreck hans been released yet, that doesn't mean anything. EA has a trackrecord of not only flipflopping, but when ever they say no microtransactions, It's very misleading to say the least. Mark my words, nothing good will come from this, EA saying no microtransactions, is not a sign ofey EA learning their lesson, It's a sign of them trying to figure out a better(for them) way to screw over the consumer.
Manipulating review scores is only the icy on the cake, as far as Anthom goes, before alls said and done, It's going to get way worse.

Oh my god! They never said there wasn't microtransactions! How many times does this have to be said. There are microtransactiions in the game, they are just cosmetic only! Bioware has confirmed this on multiple streams and are able to get some purchasable cosmetics from in-game currency from playing the game.

I love this topic of "I speculate the game will be fine" vs "I speculate the game will be Fallout 76 2.0".

How is any of that relevant to Anthem? The game has no season pass and has all DLC free.

Overloaded_Wolf sorry, but what allows publishers and developers to get away with crappy games is the fact that people buy them, not the fact i ignore them.
If instead of trying to play everything under the sun, you guys chose better then this shit wouldnt happen so frequently.
But of course is easier to complain than to do something about it.
What i have noticed by a lot of the content in this forum, is that people talk but they dont walk the talk. If the game sucks move along, if people dont buy them they will stop making them. Is no rocket science.

You are making blanket comparisons to stuff that does not apply to Anthem, keep it relevant if you are going to make statements such as this.Originally posted by Zoltor View Post
I gave examples, very expensive season passes(which unlike microtransactions which are usually not meaningful content anyway, regular DLC is almost always meaningful, otherwise no one would buy it), more DLC untop of that. All and all, you'll end up being forced to pay a total of 180+ to get the entire game, that frankly probally Isn't even worthy of being a 40$ game.
Bandai is a pretty prime, and common example of such, the difference is atleast Bandai makes good games with a lot of content in the base games from the getgo, and the content usually doesn't feel cut.

Correct, so it isn't a big deal in relation to different editions.

Spect3r Because as fans of games, we want to see games thrive and be good. We focus on the negativity because of the many cases where AAA companies screw over consumers. If something that you buy screws you over by saying you need additional payments for something crucial to the game mechanically or story-wise, you would be focused on the movement of the company going forward. While I understand the sentiment of "Oh well, another shitty game", It's that sentiment that allows publishers and companies like EA and Activision get away with crap that shouldn't be in the games we play. (Within acceptable and reasonable boundaries)

And there are not even that many versions of the game.
There are 2 versions of the game, and one of thus versions you can choose from 2 different steelbooks. Thats it.
No over priced CE, no 10 different editions, none of that,

How could they handle regular DLC worse when all the DLC is free?

You are locking completely optional in-game content behind an additional cost that you don't have to pay but feel inclined to for what reason than "I don't have it so I need it". The special edition gives you an armor set that probably doesn't even look nearly as cool as stuff you get in end-game. Is only useful in early-game and has little to no bearing on the gameplay as a whole. This is what people need to get out of their head. You don't need to put additional money into something, you can just not get it. If you want it, it is up to you. You aren't locked out of "crucial" content for getting the base game here. And saying "when you need a spreadsheet for special editions" is such a cop-out statement, its just sad.Originally posted by Zoltor View Post
We're not talking NIS, ATLUS or Nintendo type of special edditions here I'm afraid, when you need a spreadsheet for special edditions or it locks ingame content behind such, It's not a good thing. Are you really asking that? Regular DLC alone could be worse then microtransactions if handled wrongly, and the store exclusive thing "is" worse(atleast with microtransactions, everyone technically has access to all the same stuff), ect. This is to say nothing about the BS they maybe icoming up with that thinktank of there's. I don't know what's scarier them doing stuff they have already pulled in the past or inventing a new way that showes, even when you think you hit rock bottom, EA s there to prove oh know, not even close to rock bottom yet.
