Apparently there's cosmetic items that cost 20 dollars. WTF. that's a third of the full game price.

I mean, I liked it.Originally posted by Justince View PostI'm staying optimistic. The movement and flying all looked great, I'm worried about the staying power of the combat long term. People have said the gameplay loop is solid.
When I got the first unlock, I went right for Interceptor and I was NOT disappointed. She slices, she dices, and it feels great. In fact, even though there aren't as many slick combos as Warframe has, the melee in Anthem felt BETTER. It really helps that none of the enemies in the game so far have hitscan weapons (at least they don't seem to). They all shoot projectiles with actual travel time, which makes it a lot easier to survive when your playstyle involves being up in your enemy's face. I was actually able to dodge and weave around between enemy laser fire and NOT take a whole lot of damage because I was smart about my positioning. In WarFrame, if you want to melee the enemy you either need to make sure your melee OHKO's everyone you swing at, or you need to jerry-rig yourself some absurd protection like hp regen or damage nullification, because bullets WILL hit you. You can't dodge them. In Anthem? I can actually DODGE THE BULLETS. And it feels GREAT.
And then they let us unlock the other two javelins for the final day and I got to play some Colossus. I have to say there's something REAL SPECIAL about bulldozing an enemy with your shield, making them slide across the ground in front of you with only maybe 10hp left and then stopping where they came to a halt to finish them off with a little smack.
Ugh, I have to admit as much as I love Anthem and I genuinely want it to succeed, I really hate that EA has it's name on it. Couldn't someone like Capcom come buy it from them? lolOriginally posted by Justince View PostI don't want BioWare to fail but I also hate seeing EA succeed which is a tough position

serious question, but... when did cosmetic items become bad? i thought it was the consensus that if you were going to do MTXs or loot boxes, it was acceptable to only do cosmetic things, not things that can give a player an advantage.

I don't want BioWare to fail but I also hate seeing EA succeed which is a tough position I'm sure Blizzard fans can relate to. I enjoyed the combat in the first Mass Effect, if that says anything. That's the only one I have any experience with.

I don't get that impression personally. The visual style was one of the things that drew me in, but differn't strokes for differn't folks I suppose...Originally posted by Justince View PostWhat little I played of it a few years ago I rather enjoyed, visually it's an example of a very distinct art style that stays with you. Anthem is bland and generic looking at first glance.

I've been watching some of the video of the game on YouTube. Another faceless bunch of robots flying around pinging anemic guns off stupid enemies. Doesn't seem to have much personality. Good graphics, just no...character. I won't bother with this at launch, no way, but if it's got decent content long-term who knows.

Mass Effect 76... another game to sell skins, the people buy it and the companies will continue without making real games.Last edited by Baron Baldric; 01-26-2019, 07:44 PM.

Well, whatever was the issue I was after about midnight i was able to play without issue, I did have some rubber banding but so far there isn't much of that left. I thought maybe it was my connection but all my ports are open and I'm currently running at GIGABIT speed. Seems that all that jerky or choppy movement has went away as well. I can load in at full 4k.
As for the quality, What to say about this. It is the good old frosty engine, While the chromatic aberration is a bit much in my opinion I have to say that it looks stunning in areas. I have not preordered a game ever in my life. I have been against it, but my buddy did and gave me this copy. My friends list on EA is like bare lol. I have refused to play the games they dish out in so long. But I think I really might like this game. If the server connectivity is solid and they keep the game play engaging then I will have no issue playing this for some time to come. As for the in game economy we will see as that will either make it or break it. There are difficulty settings in the demo and I currently have mine set to hard. Running around in the world can be a pain at times but its doable if you are smart about the situation.
Controls, underwater controlling need fixing. Mouse an keyboard its just well you go to look one way it damn near spins you 360 and I have my mouse set to 800 dpi. I find that swapping to a controller in those parts is way more manageable. Using a controller on a PC is blasphemy in my opinion but I am glad that I have on close by.
I would say if you haven't preordered the game there is no need to and there are plenty of keys floating around out there that finding your way into the demo should be cake. I know people that have NVIDIA cards that got emailed keys. Preorders much have been bad because EA was handing them out at points.

Your rigs are not a good thing to test if it works on both AMD, and NVIDIA rigs properly, your rigs are too high end to properly test such. You could probally run even PUBG without any problems with those PCs, and PUBG is a steaming pile of shit that doesn't even deserve to exist, It's so broken/poorly optimized.Originally posted by Lodunost View PostSee no change between any of my rigs.
