    started a topic Anthem

    Anthem

So.... This DEMO got off to a bad start. Besides that, if you are having issues getting into the game just lower the resolution to 720p. It stopped the infinite loading screen for me. I can't speak for others since its only been up for a short time. I did make a tweet with this suggestion within the first hour and seems to have worked for others as well. One thing I can't seem to fix is the horrible choppy frame rate. I mean it just shudders so bad and I can't figure out why. I have a full 4k gaming rig should be able to handle it.

I think the servers may be poorly optimized as well. I tried to get into the first mission to get the manifold, Guess what happened just a very long loading screen, which then transitioned to black screen. After the black screen I was greeted with a like outdoor looking area which caused the game to crash which made me have to reload into the game. Upon reloading the game I had the manifold. I got it without any explanation sadly. I will try to post more on this subject as I play with the settings. If I find anything out I will report it back here. Since I have 5 other rigs here I will test the demo out on those rigs to see if there is a change.

If they don't dick over Anthem they absolutely will win back some good faith, but it's going to take a while for people to openly give EA a pass on anything and I think that behavior is warranted, especially after the Battlefront fiasco and open mockery of fans during BFV development. It looks like Europe and other countries will start cracking down on the MTX scam so maybe in a few years this will all be ancient history.

They will use any resource, any developer, their own players, and any loophole in the book they can to achieve this.

So, if they do something well done you dont give them props?
    No chance of redemption?

I rarely play one of their games so i honestly dont care, but seems a bit extreme

It became a problem when the companies realized they make more money selling skins than selling games and now they make games specifically to sell skins.

They cut the content, they alter the balance of the game and its economy and other things like matching you with people who play badly, all this to increase the consumption of these microtransactions.

It's a domino effect, Fortnite, Fallout 76, Anthem and now Metro Exodus will only release on the Epic Store.

AlexKidd So, what you call an extra in a car?
I mean, you already paid for the car, why would you have to pay if you want this or that extra?
You pay because is not something you need in the car but something you want.
Now, are you calling them greedy as well?

Same thing here, they arent selling you something you need to play the game, they are selling you something you want.

Ok after i played the Demo last weekend the whole time it worked with my Friends i got weak it was really fun i loved the combat the interaction in combat between the different javelins and i preordered the Game lot of people just wanna hate on EA but i can't wait to play the open demo next weekend. And the servers where not from Bioware the whole Server structure came from EA and they let and Intern calculate the servers i guess. Yes calling it a Beta whould have been better but i didn't pay for it i grabbed a code from the PS4 reddit.

Most people that developed the older games, already left. It's just an empty shell carrying the name Bioware.

It's content that's supposed to be free. At least, that's how it was 10-15 years ago. And no don't give me the bullshit 'GaMeS ArE MoRe ExPeNsIvE To MaKe NoWaDaYs' argument. That's been debunked numerous times. They make enough money with a full priced game, everything else that they charge money for is just pure greed. I have no problems with F2P games charging 20 dollar/euro for a skin, like Fortnite. Let that be clear.

AlexKidd they are not selling a piece of the game for 20€ they are selling you something that doesnt bring any advantage at all in terms of the game, not something you need to play the game.

What part of it is a scam?

I mean it is made by Bioware. So, maybe some hope for a storyline?

I had no faith in this one, as soon as I heard that con artist Sarkeesian visited the studios (whose talent jumped ship long ago) my faith went from 0 to the negative digits.
Now the demo dropped and got most wrong, its gonna fail. I'd HATE to be right for players and developers sakes. That and in games like this, endgame is very important and with the state of BioWare, I doubt they can deliver and support the game long-term.

    A. Priced items don't belong in a 60 dollar/euro game. If i pay 60 euro for a game, i expect everything to be unlockable without having to pay.
    B. Apparently it takes 20 hours to play to earn a 20 dollar/euro item in Anthem. That's absurd. It's a scam.
