Definitely, it seems like even Disney is shying away from it in favor of more live action remakes. They already abandoned 2D animation already, now 3D isn't good enough either(Well, non-photorealistic 3D anyway).

My exact thoughts when I find out about the "Lion King" remake.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but uh... Disney is remaking all of them... ALL of them. Their entire animated catalog is going to be remade. Even a lot of their older movies are being remade (like Pete's Dragon awhile back).

Part of the reason they're doing it, aside from milking their own space walrus sized corporate tits for more money, is to refresh all their copyrights for another good century or so.

I still own an original 101 Dalmatians VHS tape (PT-BR version). I feel like a CGI version of it would totally kill the nostalgic vibe for this title (and they even did a live action version)
