My video gaming is almost zero these days. The little time I have for myself I tend to spend on pen and paper role playing games hence you will see me more in that subforum than this one. I bought a new computer and a few video games last year but sadly I realized my computer cannot play any current gen game even at lowest settings. Why Bard's Tale IV needs 3GB of video RAM I will never understand. It's going to be a couple years before I get a new PC again so I'm kind of screwed (working within the confines of a hardware budget that is. Yes I could just buy another PC or console now but I don't want to spend my money on that right now). I'm considering a Switch because of the price point and that I could use it while riding public transit to and from work. I've been considering it for a long while now... I should really decide.

Maybe. I doubt it though. What difference does it make on how much money someone has when it comes to being bias? I can't afford a Porsche, but I don't hate them because of it, lol.

bias....or just money not being unlimited.

It's very concerning to me that more than half (as of right now) of the people here own just one platform. Not that they are all fanboys, but this definitely indicates strong bias in the industry.

Computers don't have generations, therefore you need to use your own judgement to determine whether yours is current or not.

Obviously I can't judge whether your computer that I know nothing of is capable of playing games or not. I just gave you the parameters to judge for yourself. BTW if you purchased a high end PC at the end of 2010 it's not out of the question that it will still run games today. https://www.techspot.com/article/156...t-years-later/

Mine is one of that very few CPUs that was immune to the Spectre and Meltdown vulnerabilities, so I'm keeping it for a secure machine in the long run.

Not sure whether PC really counts cos they're constantly increasing specs and don't have any 'generations' per se... but I suppose you could apply the metric of whether you can play respective console gen games on them at default settings... eh... w/e.

I play games on my laptop, but only really older games (hard stop at 2014 more or less). Otherwise, I have a PS4...

I'm kinda in the same boat with my PC. it's kinda of a "last gen" machine, lol. I replaced the graphics card a few years ago, but everything else needs an overhaul. at least its a quad core.

Good advice. this poll was designed to box people in a corner, but I'll keep this in mind have try to have an "other" option in future polls.

I have a PS4, but it's for Netflix. Then again, my TV has Netflix built in now, so I am not sure what I keep it around for.
