started a poll Daily Poll #1

    Daily Poll #1

    46
Yes. I own and game on more than one current gen gaming platform (PC, XBO, PS4, Switch)
    54.35%
    25
No, I just game on one primary platform for the generation
    45.65%
    21

    The poll is expired.

I thought I'd take it upon myself to create a daily poll here. Title is self explanatory. But I'll just go over this once:
    • Daily poll
    • Video game -related
    • Some topics may be more controversial
    • Questions may be open ended or with only a Yes/No, A/B answer
    • Questions will range from current events, industry, economics, SJW issues, specific games or completely random and asinine (always gaming related)
    • Unless otherwise stated, polls will be set to timeout after a week to prevent old polls from being risen from the grave
    • I may miss a day or get bored and quit
    • May experiment with the format, such as the multi-answer, time limit and public vote options
    • There is no dedicated post window
    • They are my polls. I word them how I want. Cry about it and I'll wave my dick in your face
    • Poll starts now:

It's purely for the exclusive games; I'd love to play Spiderman, God of War and The Last Guardian. Also, some other titles like Detroit: become human and Horizon: zero dawn look interesting.

My philosophy is I have only so much time to play a hobby and passion I love... I want to make sure I get to play the best of what is out there. So I buy all the boxes to do just that. It's all about the games for me. If you treat the different consoles as an investment, its nott hat expensive, considering the price of some of them on sale later in a generation is about the cost of 2 new games. This is just me though.

You could try and make one of the next daily poll's about if anyone here have an older Gen Console/Retro Console, I think that would remove much "worry" you have about a bias in the industry, or i could just be wrong and will be confirmed... Regardless i think i would be an interesting poll

I wouldn't call myself a PC elitist, though i do mostly play on my PC. (also i clearly mentioned i also game on a N64 and Gamecube, and i know you know that because you replied to the comment where i wrote that in...)

I have a hard time understanding why a person would buy a console that is about to be replaced with the "next gen" that have been out for 2'ish years.

I feel like if you wanted to play on a PS4 you would have already bought it by now or you would at least wait for the PS5 to be released so you could buy the PS4 + the games you really want, the really good ones with a discount... (which is why i originally just wrote why and that the console is about to be replaced with the ps5)

I get what you are saying, but you didn't really convince me.

Like PC games "generally" gets better and better year after year (lets ignore indie games/retro games with a distinct visual style and the low quality AAA games for now) every year the hardware for PC's get better and better and the quality of game and the size of games you can make increases bit by bit and over a few years there are drastic changes to the product that can be made.

Where on the other hand you have the consoles generations, every (2-3)? years you have a new generation of consoles that gets released that are spec vise superior to the former generation but always have "locked specks" and when people generally talk about "current gen" they are talking latest generation of console, in this instance it's the playstation 5, the switch and the x-box "something" at least that is what the people in my circle of friends friends do, or the youtubers i watch does. (or it might just have been me to projected my own "belief" of current gen on to them and they never said or did anything to make me question that, so i could just continue with that belief unchallenged until today where you pointed it out)

So a PC elitist can't understand why a person would want a PS4. Wow, what a shocker!

Ah. I thought you were being weird, lol. No, it isnt a label for consoles only. Not accusing you of this, but it kinda sounds like a strange PC fanboy elitism concept. I don't see how that line of thinking serves any purpose other than to unnecessarily divide console gaming and PC gaming. In any case, now you have heard of a PC gamer (me) who is talking about PC games as part of a generation.

A generation line might be dictated by consoles more, but it is also dictated by general computer tech as well. A game like Tomb Raider (2012) for instance might ride the line of a generation, especially when considering PC. But it is a last generation game. Pc games are in the future, they aren't "next gen." With the ability to upgrade, they are next "last gen," but a lot of games sure are. PC gaming is, by default, always a current gen platform. Nobody is pretending PC is a console here.

sure i have, pc games, in my group of friends/gamers current gen is a label for consoles only, that might not be how the rest of the world uses it (apparently) but i've never heard of anyone talk about PC games as "current gen"

So you haven't played a game released since 2012?

why? the PS4 is about to meet it's end of its life cycle and there worn't that many "really good games" people will look back on as "classics of that console"

I haven't bothered with current gen for over a decade, m exclusively a PC gamer.

I did however go out and buy an N64 and Gamecube a few years ago and several of the classics for those games.
