THIS TOPIC WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS TO THE ENDING OF KINGDOM HEARTS III! IF YOU DO NOT WANT IT SPOILED THEN DO NOT CROSS THIS LINE!
So if you're reading this then you've hopefully completed the game and reached the Epilogue. We know that Sora's journey through all those worlds was basically giving him the courage to do what he needed to do when the time came. I.E. Save Kairi after Xehanort destroys her body by using the power of waking at the cost of himself. After the final battle the Guardians of Light are all brought back to the Keyblade Graveyard and that's when Sora decides to save Kairi using the power of waking. He ultimately succeeds but then fades away as they spend their last moments together in front of the sunset on Destiny Islands and then the credits roll. Afterwards Xigbar turns out to be Luxu and four of the five Masters join him around the black box, Ava is missing as she apparently completed her role.
NOW... personally I don't think Sora is dead. Young Xehanort on several occasions told him that his time in this world was short but he never said anything about it flat out killing him so he's mostly likely "in between" worlds OR is off kicking it with the Master of Masters or Ava, who after reading the secret reports is obviously the girl Axel and Saix were searching for.
I also believe the third heart in Sora is "ours" or rather the player's which is what allowed Sora to call upon the Light of the Past during the fight against the giant tornado of darkness.
What do you all think? I'd like to see what other people have made of it.

Something that I failed to mention was the random appearance of Lingering Will. I kind of put it aside and ignored it but I later discovered that in the Final World you can easily miss a conversation with Namine and how she forms a connection with Terra and his armor hence why he appears to fight against Terranort.
Why oh why was this optional?! This is important piece of information!

While i dont agree with all your gripes, the ones i do agree on could get fixed with an eventuall final mix patch.

I just finished KH3 about an hour ago. Loved it from start to finish, it's easily one of the 10 best games of this console gen (IMO). KH3 makes it very clear early on that it is a game with a job to do, and said job is a big one: resolving the tangled, butchered plot of the Xehanort saga. And somehow, the game manages to do a fine job of pulling it off. Every major cut scene in the story is geared toward solving existing problems instead of creating new ones, and the plot doesn't drag its heels anywhere. This is a welcome change from past games, especially some of the handheld games that didn't really need to exist and only further complicated things (the worst offenders being Birth By Sleep, Dream Drop Distance, and Re: Coded). I mean I love BBS, but it had no reason to exist as part of the main plot.
I did have a few gripes with KH3, however:
-There is no colosseum whatsoever, which sucks, because that was one of my favorite parts of the first game (they butchered it in KH2, though).
-Drive Forms are gone. They were one of my favorite elements of KH2, so I was disappointed. Sora in Final Form was a demigod, it would have been awesome to see him regain that level of power in KH3.
-You can't actually travel to and from Radiant Garden, The Land of Departure, or the Mysterious Tower, despite them being in the game and playing a major role in the story.
-Twilight Town was butchered, with all of the fun areas now being completely inaccessible. It was also made irrelevant very early on.
-There's nowhere that you can go to and just talk to all of the guardians of light/keyblade wielders and see them walking around. That's what Twilight Town should have been.
-There's no Moana world. Sora will never be able to properly thank Maui for his contributions to society.
-Sora's fate at the end was ambiguous. I guess I'll just stick with my head-canon, where he settles down with Kairi and they have a few kids together.
-Aside from Riku and Aqua, none of the other keyblade wielders were playable. They should each have gotten at least one playable segment.
-Kairi and Lea are, sadly, walking embarrassments to the legacy of keyblade wielders. All that hype and buildup, and they accomplish nothing.
I loved everything else about the game, though. It gave me some of my favorite moments in the series. Especially the ending scene with Roxas, Xion and company on the train station clock tower, that made me tear up and made the game/series complete for me. That's what I played KH3 to see, Roxas and Xion alive and back together. Aqua's rescue was also an emotional moment that I loved. In fact, KH3 did such a good job of closing out the Xehanort saga that I'm not really inclined to buy any future KH games. It just feels complete. I'll keep an eye on future installments, though. Maybe if they can keep the next story "simple and clean" and not mangle it like the Xehanort saga, I might get into the next KH games.

I'd be all for a cross between Versus and TWEWY and the Reaper's game idea would be a fascinating way for them to bring him back if he really is dead.Originally posted by M1st3r_Luna View PostI did tear up a bit and cussed like a sailor for all of the whole and hype moments beyond San Fransokyo.
I'd like to think that Sora did die, what with him waking up in Shibuya. If TWEWY is anything to go by, it may be possible that he'll play the reaper's game to get his life back.
Whatever happens beyond KH3, I'll be excited for it for as long as it doesn't go woke.

Hmm I may have to rewatch it then to make sure... though I've never touched UnionX or watched anything on the internet about it but I somehow have knowledge of what happened lol.
I know, it just seemed to be too strong of a focus on his eye like it was hinting at something, at least to me.Though I agree, it was a very satisfying revelation. One more question answered for one of the more interesting organization members.

Back Cover only covers the events before the Keyblade war and not UnionX. unless I missed something.
As for Xigbar, he lost his eye to Terra while trying to save Xehanort in Birth By Sleep. At first I figured that he might actually be Luxu when he quoted the master's "guiding key" only to "die" during the keyblade war. Then you have master Yen using the same quote..
Quite honestly this revelation was very satisfying. I like Xigbar.

All the Final Fantasy characters are in the Toy Box world, stuck in a Dissidia game. Though in all seriousness the game just feels like it's more of a foundation than a complete work. Like they built it to expand it.Originally posted by MrFon View PostA few things that bothered me about this game.
There are no final fantasy characters. Like what the heck? The only close resemblance would be Verum Rex as Versus XIII-ish.
Some worlds are half finished. Twilight Town and Winnie The Pooh are short as hell.
The story. You really need to watch Back Cover and UnionX to make sense of late game story which is ridiculous because that's a mobile only title. Thank goodness for YouTube..
Oh and What's in the box?!?!
Other than that the game is brilliant. It hit me on the feels starting with Big Hero 6 and beyond. Aquas battle was masterful and all the reunions after that made the ending wholesome.
Xigbar being Luxu caught me off guard and I agree that Ava could be the girl they're looking for. The secret ending is most likely Insomnia and possibly the next chapter to Kingdom Hearts revealing more about the Master of masters.
Also with their bundle of 2.8 they cover the Back Cover and UnionX stuff. I don't think they intended people to be able to go in without playing their bundles first, they did a good job explaining several things to newbies but they REALLY pushed their bundles over and over as if they were hinting that you needed to play these to fully understand 3. So it makes sense that you wouldn't really get it all if you didn't.
I had a feeling when Xigbar first mentioned he joined just to get Xehanort's keyblade that he was far more than he seemed. Then with the eye patch as well it wasn't hard to imagine it being a flag about the Master of Masters since the MoM put his eye in the keyblade that was passed down. Though I personally thought he was the MoM and not Luxu... but that could still be a possibility since we don't know where the MoM is and he could just be pretending to be Luxu. We'll just have to wait and see. As for the secret ending, I don't really think that will be a canon story, more like an alternate universe type thing but who knows lol.

Ahh I see, well either way you should play the game just for the hell of it! XD But I would have to agree with you. They could have prepared special versions to be sent out to reviewers if their concern was them spoiling the story and then have the official release come with it without a download. However I can also see where they are coming from, had that scene have been showed at any point before you reach the end it would have ruined the entire thing BUT that is still no excuse.Originally posted by isturbo1984 View PostOriginally posted by isturbo1984 View Post
The ending? Havent downloaded it yet. lol
I haven't actually played the game. I was just poking fun at the absurtity that if you bought the game on a disc, you can't experience the end of the single-player game without an internet connection. People go out of their way to defend some practices. If EA published the game for instance, YongYea would be making 12 videos about it.

I'm fairly certain we're going to be able to find out what's going on with Verum Rex. It's likely either going to be a non-canon DLC or update.Originally posted by Overloaded_Wolf View PostI only had some post-game blues. Like when Sora vanished in the end next to Kairi. But we will have to see about that "Yozora" teaser at the end if you got all the secret emblems. I am really intrigued by seeing Sora and Riku in the world of Verum Rex. Unfortunately, it is not a reference to TWEWY, but to the game trailer for "Verum Rex" at the beginning of "Toy Box" world. As well as its heartfelt homage to the back-burnered FFXIII Vs. which ended up as FFXV.
