. I know this sounds a little dumb but as long as the game is amazing it is totally worth the system . Zelda is my key point. The switch was very limited at the start and even now is. The thing that i Love about new consoles/pc is that normally there will be new games that come out for that system. I myself am so excited for animal crossing. and also who doesnt love a little mario party. Nintendo's console exclusives irk me. I am fine with this though as long as the games created are worthwhile i am fine with it. I spend money on so many dumb things and video games are definitely worth it!

usually 4 or 5, but also an amount of friends bunched on one console, or a new Monster Hunter game will get me into a new console aswell

Very topical for me, right now. I have heard so much about RDR2. I finally bought the original and played it on my old PS3, love it (the ending...). Seriously tempted to get the PS4, simply for that one game as any other I've wanted to play for the PS, I have on PC. I don't think one game, even if RDR2 is as good as it sounds, is enough for me to justify the expense... Not to mention how terribly designed consoles have been since X-Box and PS3 systems came out... I've owned three PS3s... Two, backward compatible, both burned out due to the ridiculously terrible design flaws... Now, I have over a hundred ps2 games I can't play, will likely just get a PS2, used, one day but I am still too ticked off about the other two systems burning out, after multiple repairs, even. When I saw the specs for the PS4 and X-Box one and how horrifically over-priced they are for outdated tech, even when they were first released, I gave up on consoles, I already had a pretty decent PC, I am a trained and certified tech as well so making a custom rig that out-powered them for roughly the cost of one console was easy. Now, my rig is much more powerful and even though the PC world is getting corrupted like the console world was, it is still better, for now...
So, I suppose I would need at least two, RDR2 caliber, games, likely 3, to justify the expense and supporting bad tech and corrupt corporations ripping off gamers and censoring games, unnecessarily.

It really depends on the game. Breath of the wild completely made the switch worth it to me.
I got a PS4 for Bloodborne and Infamous and it worked out well for me.
Was holding back on getting an xbox purely because theres very few games that appeal to me in their exclusive library.

I almost always wait until the end of a consoles life to buy one, so I guess my answer is "all of them", or at least a few thousand games to choose from...by that point, most of the games can be bought fairly cheap too. Since we got the "$100 = £100" console exchange rate here (I say that because, when a system comes out in the US priced $299 its priced £299 here despite the actual exchange rate... and has just happened with the PS1 classic mini) it means that I can't justify forking out £299 for a new console, plus £40 for each game... that seems crazy, but I guess people pay it.
I did however solely buy a PS2 way back around 2002, just to play GTA III and Vice City. And boy it was worth every penny...

I need more then three games to buy one, I’d also need a few upcoming games to keep me settled

I can live with one good game on the console's release if I know there will be other games down the line that I'm interested.

I found my magic number to be 3 games to get started. If there's less than 3 that i'm interested in, I find that I get bored.

No amount of games would justify buying a console even tho I would like to play some of console games. There are enough games on PC for me to enjoy.

I bough a PS3 just for MGS4. If I want to play it badly enough I'll buy it just for 1 game. That being said I wish all games were mutiplat, but that will never happen.

It has to have an amazing JRPG for me to want to get it. But even then, bills and wife come first.

It seems 1 is more than enough for me. Bought WiiU for Splatoon alone, however I was also kind of interested in Xenoblade Chonicles X at this time, and since it was released a day before I got my console I ended up with these 2 games, still Splatoon was the only game I really wanted. Similar story with Switch however this time it was for 2 games, once again Splatoon 2 and this time Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was a must have for me since I really liked previous game.Last edited by Pantsu Hunter; 12-11-2018, 02:02 PM.
