  • Neil Blomkamp and EA

It would seem that Neil Blomkamp, in collaboration with EA is making a short film about "Anthem". You can check out the short 19sec trailer on YouTube.

I like his work and I am a big fan of District 9, I am however not a fan of Chappie because as a South African "Die Antwoord" was just too much cringe for me.

Wrong place to post, this subforum is for News and Announcements about the site and forum.

Anyway, I think Neil is very overrated. District 9 was a passable allegory on the Apartheid, but its sci-fi elements are really poor. Chappie is even worse. Whatever he does for EA, it is sure to be awful but it will still be praised by critics.

Oh, I guess that makes him and EA games a perfect match.

I dont know about that because his Oats short films are brilliant and District 9 is one of the great sci-fi movies.

Nah, I was not a fan of District 9....
So many far superior sci-fi plots, story-lines, characters, CGI.... (or preferably lack thereof, since we all know models are far better, right?)
Take Blade Runner, The Terminator, Back to the Future, Robocop, Alien(s)
Yeah, 80s were the best for sci-fi. :-P

I thought it had some good moments. Don't watch it with a South African or someone who knows about the situation there. As some fun sci fi it's a good movie. (I meant District 9, not the YouTube vid)

Mods will more than likely, justifiably, move this topic to the Gaming News section.
