What is your most anticipated game next year? Biggest bust?

Without getting myself in trouble with the NDA, Anthem plays like a cross between Destiny and a flight simulator. Unless the demo in February impresses me in ways the Alpha did not, I will be skipping this game and would be surprised to see it last longer than a year, much less the ten year timeplay EA is planning on.

I was thinking of Crackdown 3 but I feel the hype for that game has just dropped to historical lows for a AAA title.Originally posted by DarknessFX View PostAnticipated: Dreams and Sekiro.
Bust: Crackdown 3.

Do you think Anthem is Bioware's sink or swim project. As a fan of the ME trilogy and the first Dragon Age game (2 had potential but rushed, and 3 was alright), it would sadden me if Bioware shuts down because of what looks to be a destiny clone.Originally posted by Sorain View PostCyberpunk 2077 if it releases in 2019 is the clear winner. After that, I think for me it's going to be a question of if Anthem manages to be good or not. If it is, then great, it gets the slot! If it isn't, then Mechwarrior 5 is my big ticket hopeful.
The likely bust I'm hoping I'm wrong about is Anthem, likely victim of publisher interference. One game project (however doomed it might have been) already died trying to see this to fruition. The 'new' Bioware has this one chance to build their own legacy by beating the odds, long as they are. I hope they do.

Since you said you played the Alpha is it possible to give any impressions such as gameplay, quest, etc. I'm just curious because I know games media people/youtubers have stated they played the alpha but I haven't heard much about it.Originally posted by MadMummy76 View PostThe Last of Us 2
Cyberpunk 2077
The Outer Worlds
Biggest bust: Anthem - I played the alpha, so I know it is a bust for me.

I got all excited, i thought that was cod4 mw, i loved cod4, spent 1000's hours on it over many years. Tried the remaster didnt even play a full match and never touched it again. Thought they were gonna try a second time and make a real cod4, but nope lol.

Ah yes that dirty old town.........err place, good memories, good booze, good weed.......just old Gomez being a cranky old codger.
And yeah I agree, better to use all the time you need, instead of rushing it out.........Gothic 3 should be a warning example.
God the release was bad......but it has matured decently........though sadly it isn't as good as Gothic 2 or Gothic.

The very same. The colony to be precise.
Bannerlord will be great and I am pretty optimistic about a release next year actually. The dev updates show the implemetation of features that should be added near the end of development, so there is hope... I am glad though, that they have the option to take their time to deliver a great game and do just that.Last edited by Oysterhead; 12-18-2018, 09:42 PM.

Well I can understand that..........it's an interesting game and the predecessor was so endlessly moddable.Originally posted by Oysterhead View PostBannerlord, same as the last 5 years. I am retarded, I don't learn. So it's probably the answer to both quetions.
btw........I like that Avatar............was it taken on Khorinis?

Cyberpunk 2077 and Doom Eternal (so long as its not tied to Bethesda's horrendous launcher).
Maybe the Resident Evil 2 remake. Im excited for it, but I'm waiting to see how they are going to implement micro transactions. Capcoms been making some shoddy decisions with microtransactions and ad-related stuff lately. Monster Hunter World is pretty much the only franchise they've got left I'm willing to still give them money for because they haven't done anything ridiculous with it.......yet.
And maybe Death Stranding if I can manage to get a PS4 Pro for a decent price around tax time.

To me, if we look at the market, the most expected games would be Anthem, Cyberpunk 2077 and The Division 2 so far.
If it turns out to be true and Borderlands 3 is launched I would expect it to take a good chunk of attention, and personaly I would focus on it, one of my favorite fps/loot hoarding games in quite some time.
I would like to also point out to Star Citizen. I have seen predictions of it launching a first version at the end of 2018/start 2019. I know, Star Citizen is something no one is expecting will see the light of the day. I am bias because I backed it, so yeah, I remain hopefull. :-)

Looking forward to Em-8ER, the Massive Planetary Wargame, the spiritual successor to what FireFall should have been. Created by Mark Kern (Team Lead for Vanilla World of Warcraft Firefall. Producer of Diablo 2, Starcraft, Broodwar,) The Em-8ER Forums and discord is open for those interested in following it's progress. Terrain demo any day with a playable mock-up planned for the kickstarter in Q1 of 2019.
As for busts, well that's kind of hard to predict. Anthem is being super hyped up but Bioware as a company has been showing its distain for gamers recently with it's announcement of a Dev pushing personal Politics into the upcoming Dragon age and it's EA influanced push towards microtransactions. If they dont hit it out of the park with Anthem I predict their reputation, not to mention stock bottoming out.
