  • I vary from week to week on what draws my interest. This week I've been playing Two Point Hospital relentlessly - the new DLC is silly fun. I can often be found fighting hordes of zombies in They Are Billions - it drew me back in recently after they added the ability to create/download custom maps and campaigns and those are a lot of fun and bring new challenges to the game. When my grandson comes by for a visit I'll jump into Spyro with him and get all nostalgic. Don't Starve recently released the latest DLC Hamlet in early access, and it's added a new level of difficulty to an already challenging game. It's fun, but so freaking much salt flows that I prefer watching my husband play. And when I'm feeling like I just need to chill out, I'll fire up The Long Dark. It's not an easy game, but it's so immersive that I just absolutely lose myself in it.

      • I have been playing Quake Champions Doom Edition today, its great classic fast paced fun and plays amazing on high HZ monitors!
Because Doom is so old your PC is going to run this at max framerate pretty much all the time even if you don't have a gaming rig, and best of all you can use Zandronum and Freedoom to play this 100% free (But that will mean the enemy's and textures look different if your using Freedoom instead of regular Doom).

          • Today I'm playing 'Binding of Isaac'.

I installed the 'Item Description Mod' and 'Missing HUD' and I must say, that it has opened my eyes for more possibilities within the game.
Yes, I could have figured everything out myself, but after years of playing on/off and having a memory as colander - this really did the trick for me.
In my first run of the day, I got all the way past the heavens, down in the chestroom and obliterated that S.O.A.B.!

I got video to proof it (Yeah, I might be a little too proud of myself) :

            ... Damn it felt good.

            • I decided to buy and play Albino Lullaby not too long ago.

It's got excellent atmosphere and an intriguing plot. It's basically an Amnesia esque game although more creepy/trippy than straight up horror. If I'm not mistaken it was inspired by Alice Madness Returns and it certainly does have a bit of that flair.

The issue however is that there are supposed to be 2 more episodes and they haven't been released or even talked about for roughly a year it seems. A real shame but as long as you don't buy the season pass, it's not a bad time for 10 bucks.

              • Ummm... I dabble a bit with Heroes of the Storm (but I'm not great at Mobas), Whatever RPG flavor of the month game I have until I finish it, Zombie Modes of CoD games, anything Assassin's Creed...

Mostly play on my XBOne because my computer is so old that I'm pretty sure it still has some code written in Hieroglyphics, but if I can find a good game that runs on my PC I definitely prefer to play there, so I look through Steam's marketplace a lot.

Oh, and I play Fate/Grand Order and Valkyrie Connect on my Phone.

                • Been playing Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Unlocking characters is pretty fun. It'll take a while before I've got them all. I appreciate the progression though. It's more appealing than Smash 4.

                    • Right now I'm playing an indie title, "Hollow Knight" by Team Cherry. It's a great Metroidvania with a HUGE map. I'm 36 hours in, and I'm maybe halfway through. I am taking my time, but... well the 100% Completion Speedrun achievement is for getting 100% in 20 hours. So yes, this is going to take awhile. The art is hand drawn, the music changes with areas well, platforming is tight (all my platforming deaths are ultimately down to not seeing something in time, or just my fault) and combat is great. So even with backtracking, it's still fun. Right now I've run into some difficult bosses, so I'm looking around for upgrades.

                      • I am replaying the Dishonored series. Though the story isn't some threaded/branching behemoth, it's interesting enough for me, & the bits of lore spread throughout the levels, in books, notes, & the like, are well-written. The gameplay is what I like the most, from the customized difficulty to the oft-times 3-plus ways to complete an objective, whilst simultaneously deciding whether to ghost through, kill everyone, or a mix...

So I finished the main DH campaign two nights ago, for the second time (first was some years ago). Though I believe the sound design is better in DH2 & DotO, I'd forgotten how creepy I found the tall boys clanking, hissing, stomping around...oh & that spot-on incendiary arrow firing? Gah! Maybe it was amplified this time as I have a better sound system, idk, but they def put the paranoia in me, hah. I consistently hit high chaos level, even when not trying to, though this time I made numerous diff decisions, from powers to being very cautious w/ civilians to only killing one 'boss', & even that could've been avoided, really, as it was a side objective.

Now I'm on Knife of Dunwall DLC, & ugh, the visuals from that first mission have stuck w/ me brighter over the years than the rest of the game, I'd say. Having such a blast though!

I really like how natural Refrain makes expanding your party. Most games like that end up making it feel a bit weird to make more characters than your party size is.

I'm still just getting into it. I like it so far. Usually in a game where you're supposed to keep expanding the party I keep forgetting to until I need a skill that nobody has, create character, grind, grind until character is up to speed, wash, rinse, repeat...I must say that I am really enjoying the dialogue of this game. Wasn't sure if I'd like it, I'm glad I picked it up.

                            • At the moment BattleTech and Baldur's Gate 1 (no, not the Enhanced Edition, but the original).

In BattleTech it's the career mode (iron man, no components in salvaged mechs) which gives the game a whole new level of difficulty.
