Final Fantasy 7. Always has been, ever since I first played it in 1997.

Other favourites of all time would have to include:

    Pokemon Blue/Silver
    Resident Evil 2
    Metal Gear Solid 1
    Silent Hill 1
    Age of Empires 1/2
    Divinity: Original Sin 2
Classic World of Warcraft (before any of the expansions)

I'm probably forgetting some but that's the ones I can think of right meow.

Final Fantasy IX by a country mile, it's the only game I would call a masterpiece.

Right now the new league of Path of Exile is my #1, but I also dabble in ARMA 3 coop missions.

Jet set radio future on the Xbox. I really do hope there is a remake of re-release at some point.

Very hard to narrow down to one. I´ll sort my favorites by genre.

4X: Civilization (may be surpassed by Stellaris in the future, remains to be seen)
    Action RPG: Mass Effect Trilogy
    Classical RPG: Baldur´s Gate
    Sim: Cities Skylines
    Flight: Elite: Dangerous
    FPS: Battlefield 3

This might rustle some feathers, but for me it's MGS5. It's an incomplete and horribly lame story, but the gameplay is just amazing. Infiltrating FOBs is always fun, Getting S ranks on everything is fun. And I enjoy roaming the maps looking for high skilled soldiers. I've got over 300 hours into it now and still log on a couple of times per week.

Hard to say. Chrono Trigger has been my default answer for over 20 years now. But recently after thinking about it, World of Warcraft probably overtakes the ol CT for time spent, overall enjoyment and gaming impact on me personally.

    Edit:

Star Wars Battlefront 2 (The 2005 original). This game, holy shit. Me and my best mate used to play this split screen on the PS2 for hours every Friday night for almost 3 years. Being able to play as all the different classes of ordinary troopers from the Star Wars universe is so immersive and being able to claw back a victory from almost certain defeat is a really great feeling. It holds up really well today even without the rose tinted nostalgia goggles.

BF3 / BF4 can't split them and no matter what i have bought since them, I always end up going back for more. Retro wise ... sensible soccer amiga version

I liked it too. Even though after a couple playthroughs the most time I spent in it was making cool settlements lol

I find it impossible to have a favourite game, sometimes I want some action, sometimes just something casual, and sometimes something indepth and immersive. So I can't even choose favourite genera.
