Man I don’t know how to pick this. The uncharted series, The last of us, fallout new Vegas , fallout 4 and resident evil VR all have given me some amazing times and memories.

Oh my god, this is a really tough question to answer. I've been playing games since I was a kid. Living in a southamerican country in the 90's and 00's made it difficult to get access to games, but with my brother always managed to to try new ones.
    so, these are mine
NES: Super Mario Bros 3 / StarTropics 2
    Sega Genesis: Sonic 2
    Nintendo 64: Zelda OoT / Majora's Mask
Playstation 2: God of War 1 and 2
Playstation 3: Alice Madness / Assassin's Creed 2 / Mass Effect trilogy / Dragon Age Origins
Playstation 4: Nier Automata / God of War
PC: Age of Empires trilogy (always fan of the series)

Hard to choose. I see others have chosen one per genre. Based on time played:

MMO: OSRS/WoW. I get sick of WoW pretty fast and always end up back in OSRS. I feel like you're progressing your character in OSRS and progressing your gear in WoW. And your gear quickly gets irrelevant with new patches.

RPG: A tie between the Dark Souls series and the Elder Scrolls series. If someone makes a good hybrid between the two, taking the combat, mysticism, lore and character building of Dark Souls and mixes it with the story and open world of Elder Scrolls I'll be gone for a while. Both have incredible music.

    Shooter: Fortnite.

Survival: Rust. Also my most played game on Steam.

    Small indie: Don't Starve

Probably looking forward to Outer Worlds then. Looked interesting. High hopes for Obsidian.

TES III Morrowind seems pretty much a perfect thing for me, given it was the first RPG and PC game I've ever played. It is old, it is outdated, but it feels like home.

That aside, a new Borderlands game would be nice... if it would have a coherent main story line. And completely reworked classes. In the open world?

The Witcher 3 is also my favorite. It was fun. Such a simple statement, but that’s all that really matters.
CDProjekt gave away something like 16 free DLCs and the paid DLCs (Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine) were fantastic.
Really looking forward to Cyberpunk 2077. Here’s to hoping for a May 2019 release date. Doubtful, but one can hope.

If I really can only pick just one game, it would have to be Dark Souls 1.
The game's presentation of its world and story is just magnificent.

I've sunk over 160 hours into that game. It's by far my favorite game of all time. Everything is great. The music, the characters, and the menus are super stylish!

I absolutely love the Persona 5. It is one of my favorite RPGs of all time. I was hooked in the first 5 hours. It tells a thrilling story of a highschool student and his friends as they steal the hearts of corrupt adults. The game is a mix of your normal highschool life and going to an alternate reality called the Metaverse where you fight monsters. The game is extremely stylish and the menus are slick. It runs great on the PS4 locked at about 30 fps. I've sunk over 160 hours in it and I believe that I spent my time well.

Currently, my favorite game is Stellaris. It's an RTS game set in the Milkyway Galaxy, and it's about interstellar diplomacy and conquest. There are so many different ways to play and paths to take. It's deep but intuitive and very easy to get into, and there are also many great (and well balanced) options for more advanced players.

I can recommend this game to everyone.
