Paradox Interactive is releasing a new grand strategy game. Assuming that nothing bad happens to that project I'm good for the rest of the year...

...but I could always play some more platformers and puzzle games.

The genre isn't exactly defined, but I'd love to see more range based fighting games where the focus is to dodge enemy projectiles while hit opponents with your own, like ARMS, Kid Icarus: Uprising and some indie titles.

I'm really hoping the genre becomes something eventually

I recommend you looking into Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon. The game's very similar to classic castlevanias

Nice, I came up with a Die Hard rogue-like last

Those genres are okay, the issue is that they're typically all the same. Nothing wrong with nontraditional mechanics, like combat racing or made up sports.

Anything FPS is a plus for me and from the looks of it we'll be getting our fair share of amazing shooters this year.

    Dying Light 2
    Metro Exudos
    Rage 2
    Doom Eternal
    Cyberpunk 2077
    GTFO
    Serious Sam 4
    Wolfenstein Young Blood
    Atomic Heart
    Witch Fire (maybe?)
Borderlands 3 (oh please let it be this year)

Old school RTS games. But that's a fool's dream son.

Turn based RPGs and something similar to Sly Cooper or Ratchet and Clank.

For me, racing games. Racing is my favorite game genre, and this year is already looking bright with Sonic Team Racing, Xenon Racer, and Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled, so I can't wait to see the other ones to be released.

I'd like to see more proper flight sim games, i love Ace combat but it's pretty watered down compared to things like IL-2 Sturmovik

Seems like a lot of remastered games these days haha not that I'm complaining. We just need some new originality on these next gen games. That's why indie games are rising up and AAA industries are starting to crash and burn.

I would really like to see a resurrection of the Real Time Strategy genre. I know it's EA and all, but hopefully the remasters of Command & Conquer are actually good. At least they got Frank Klepacki on the team.
